For another forum: He replied to someone posting: "It's nothing of your f-ing business what we, the law abiding gun owners, do with our legally purchased assalt weapons."

| So, he's a proponent of the childproofing of society. I wonder if he enjoys the occasional drink. How about diggin fast cars. How about controversial music, or even porn. The abuse potential is there in all these cases. He thinks like Jerry Fallwell. The normal response here is that guns are different, but that is an admission that scope, and not ideology is on his mind. Everyone views scope differently. Many wouldn't car if 'big meanie' dogs were outlawed, but would that be right? |

First off I'd point out that AK47s and M16s aren't at issue with the AWB, no full-auto weapons will be effected at all. Then I'd point out that almost any technology can be used to create mayhem and death if somebody goes postal. Vehicles, fertilizer, fuel, anything. |

Ask him what law exists, or even could be enacted, that will keep a criminal from committing the crime of murder??? ONLY if they can legislatively UNINVENT the gun. Guns exist. NO LAW can stop them from being used illegally. As gun crime comprises about 2% of gun ownership, ask him what other things (alcohol, cars, butter knives, etc) would he want banned as they are used for crimes at a FAR greater rate than guns are??? |

All this started because of the Brady Campaign complaint letter about Armalite that I was laughing at over on a football forum. |
This is an easy one. He'll know you're possessed by the devil when you start attacking private gun ownership and endorsing gun control. |
I felt I should respond to the guy, not so much for him, but other people who hadn't posted on the thread yet. A little background on the guy: He hates the religious especially the likes of Jerry Fallwell, thats why I included it. My reply (with your help):
