I need some help. I am looking for some info to try and convince my County board to use some of the acres and acres of land that it has to build a public range. I would love to see a 1000 yard range or the very least a 600 yard range. I would like to approach this as a benefit to the community economically when a club or clubs hold competitive matches at the range. What I am asking for is info about what kind of matches you shoot in, ie. 3 gun, cowboy action, CMP, high-power, silhouette, or whatever. How many people on average attend these matches? How many are locals and how many travel to the area? I want to be able to show them that it may bring monies to the local economy. They use the county land for all other types of recreating so I want to get a range built. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Better yet, ask about insurance others pay...

Good luck!  It's a bit of an irony, but guns are getting more common, but places to shoot are going away.  A lot of dust is being collected...
