It’s massive. 13 pound cat and 55 pound brainless dog for scale

Painted the pittman arm and the tie rod bar tonight in primer and then black.

While they were drying they fell down into the grass and got all kinds of dirt and crap stuck in the paint.

Looks like I'm griding them down and repainting tomorrow

Pittman arm hanging up and drying after I sanded it down, primed, and painted it for the third time.

The custom drag link bar I bought from Roadster's supply is simply far too small to fit the pitman arm. I honestly think when compared to the original it was so pitifully small I don't know how it would steer a 5 ton APC.

The tie rod ends are a joke and about 1" too small. Probably fine for an FJ, TJ/YJ or Jimmy but not nearly enough for a 10k truck.

The GM 1 ton tie rod ends fit the pittman arm perfectly with plenty of space and can even be trimmed down if needed.

Off to Skye's I go, again.

I didn’t expect to have to break the differential and axle open.

That sets it all back a bit

Original steel front wheel studs-3.3oz

New titanium front wheel studs-1.9oz

Weight savings? Roughly a pound and some spare ounces for the cost of 40$ each stud (it has 8 lugs per wheel)

It’s a race car now

Yeah I figured so..thats a lot of weight to be putting on axles that weren't designed to carry that much and that have a huge shortage of parts for...

I do know bearing wise, if you have timken bearing numbers they used to let shops order replacements that hadn't been made in this century, but it took almost 2 years for them to make bearings for some 1927 hupp axles and transmission I restored years ago, not sure they will still do it, but they might..seals and everything else maybe tougher to come up with..axle parts are hard to come up with, most have been snatched up years ago...
