I want to guy one of these new Android based retro handheld gaming devices. Who used some of these lately? What do yo like or not like? I'm looking at the Anbernic RG476H and RG 477M, or maybe the Retroid Pocket 5 I want to play a variety of games from the older consoles that we all grew up with, Nintendo, Super NES, Sega, even some of the old Atari games. Maybe a few newer games. I don't think I want something much bigger with a wide screen like the Anbernic RG557. I think it's just too big for casual use and using while on trips, etc.. |

I prefer the r36 if budget is under 100. If around 200 I would go retroid pocket 5. If money is no object steam deck oled is where it all really shines. Retroid pocket consoles are great for what they are but fall short in comparison to the actual consoles we grew up playing. Goldeneye will never feel the same. But to be able to play any snes or nes game on a console in your pocket is truly priceless. I love excitebike and Mario. |

Well, I bought the Anbernic RG477M. spent the last few days getting it set up. The problem with these new Android game devices is that you have to do all the set up and find all the games yourself. So I'm working through that process now. So far the NES, SNES, N64 and Sega Genesis games seem to work. PS1 games are working also. But the PS2 and PS3 games need a bit more work to get running. I never rally had a Game Boy Color or Advanced or any of the newer handhelds so I'm not familiar with the games on those systems. But I downloaded Genshin Impact which is my daughter's favorite game and it runs natively. She's totally jealous and I'm probably going to have to buy her one now too.

I just ordered an AYN Thor pro. Waiting for it to ship is killing me, LOL. My oldest son is a IT guy and I think he's more excited to tear into it than I am. He's into modding handhelds and emulators. I just want to play some old mario bros and maybe some dreamcast roms. |
