“Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”
― John Adams Clearly the winner in last nights debate. Clearly should be the next POTUS. But he is not purdy enough and doesn't have the deep booming voice that attracts the sheeple. Shame really. So our options will be a Left leaning progressive against a right leaning progressive. Post your opinion of Rick Santorum. DU trolls welcomed! |

Nah, I'll stick with Newt, at least he has some balls. And he likes to share them with the womenz
Unfortunately Newt is less than truthful about his big government mentality. Newt is a progressive and a liar |

Quoted:
Everything I've seen of the guy,I've liked. No he isn't the most entertaining fellow on TV but look what happens when you elect the smiling rabble rouser. You get hope and change.
Maybe vote with your brain and not your emotion, let's try that for a change. Clearly, that worked so well the last time for McCain. That said, I will vote for him over Romney or Obama.....It just sucks that it's getting down to so few, with so little. |
|
Quoted: Quoted: smart, determined, capable. A bit too churchy. I am not into churchy either. But that has nothing to do with being POTUS. You obviously haven't been watching the Republican race. It has everything to do with being POTUS according to 4 of 5 candidates. Half of those debates were competitions to see who was more against abortion, and the other half were competitions to see who was more against gay marriage. |

No fucking thank you One of the criticisms I make is to what I refer to as more of a Libertarianish right. They have this idea that people should be left alone, be able to do whatever they want to do, government should keep our taxes down and keep our regulations low, that we shouldn’t get involved in the bedroom, we shouldn’t get involved in cultural issues. That is not how traditional conservatives view the world. There is no such society that I’m aware of, where we’ve had radical individualism and that it succeeds as a culture.” - Rick Santorum Quote: "One of the things I will talk about, that no president has talked about before, is I think the dangers of contraception in this country.... Many of the Christian faith have said, well, that's okay, contraception is okay. It's not okay. It's a license to do things in a sexual realm that is counter to how things are supposed to be." "If the Supreme Court says that you have the right to consensual [gay] sex within your home, then you have the right to bigamy, you have the right to polygamy, you have the right to incest, you have the right to adultery. You have the right to anything. Does that undermine the fabric of our society? I would argue yes, it does. ... That's not to pick on homosexuality. It's not, you know, man on child, man on dog, or whatever the case may be. It is one thing." "The idea is that the state doesn’t have rights to limit individuals’ wants and passions. I disagree with that. I think we absolutely have rights because there are consequences to letting people live out whatever wants or passions they desire.” Candidly, I believe most corporations actually don't mind big government. |

Not only a Christian, but a Catholic - he must worship the anti-Christ that sits on the chair of Peter in Rome!!!
––- as for the what goes on in the privacy of a home - the right to privacy is an excuse to allow things that are hidden to be legal. There is no right to privacy if I am doing something illegal. There is a right to be free from unreasonable search - but if they find I am doing something that is otherwise illegal, there is no right saying that since it is not in open sight it is ok. We need to decide if an action is legal or if it is so damaging to society that it needs to be legal, not weather it is public or private. Some moral issues need to be secular laws - such as murder. Other moral issues don't need to be legislated. |

Can tell it's election season, cause "clearly" and "frankly" are making it into GD lexicon. I think we can all agree he is the common sense candidate sure, if you want someone to rule with the iron fist of religion thanks but no thanks Please describe the shenanigans hes done in his past political career that makes you so scared of him being an ayatolla |

And there is something about him that is just creepy in my opinion. Like he's secretly gay or has some type of self hatred that he's trying to suppress. I would never vote for him. He's the type that is nearly as dangerous as Obama. |
