How long before it needs recharging?
Did it make it back to the pits? Ok, I watched the video. The way that thing pushed through the mid 300s was quite impressive |
|
And then it took 24 hours to recharge for another 2 mile run....before catching on fire.

(Rimac also now owns Bugatti.) |

Yeah one just nee to look at Rimac and Koenigsegg to see what will be in their budget grocery getter in 5-10 years. Koenigsegg has been licensing out tech since they were founded. Rimac is building and integrating it into existing brands. |

I wonder if EV cars benefit from higher altitudes when doing top speed runs since less air to drag and over come versus ICE cars that suffer form power loss?

You know why this doesn't mean shit?
Bigger motor, bigger battery, rinse, repeat. There is no real accomplishment here. |

Cool. I like fast vehicles of all types.
My personal preference is vehicles using ICE that make ICE sounds. |

Porsche invested in Rimac to have access to the tech that was much better than their own. Rimac isn't a test bed as much as it was a way for Porsche to hit the easy button with $500 million instead of paying 3x that in R&D and infrastructure. Rimac bought Bugatti to showcase the tech in cars that people will talk about for the next 100 years. Buying Bugatti was a way to solidify Rimac tech. |

I would bet the 45% Porsche bought, in the contract has the tech staying exclusive for Porsche. ETA: Rimac retained 100% of the rights to the tech. VAG will not see Rimac tech. Porsche will, the rest will not unless they license it from Rimac. |
