There also is a hundred years of film entertainment already ‘in the can’. More reruns and original movies than no single person could ever watch in a dozen lifetimes.  Then AI steps into the room.

The thing about AI generated content is that it will be infinite.  Soon enough I'll be able to ask my tv to generate new episodes of Gun Smoke, or What happened to the Heat crew after the movie, or mash ups.  Mash up the Matrix with Scooby Doo and create a episodic show.  It will.  Whatever you can think of you'll be able to watch.  How can a studio compete with that?   They can't.

No matter how the strike ends, I'll spend the same amount on Hollywood crap next year as I did this year, last year and the year before.

LOL. We have reruns. And Hollywood is only doing repeats anymore so…….

Elizabeth Warren claims to be an American Indian based on being perhaps 0.1% American Indian. So I claim to be a Neanderthal based on 3% Neanderthal DNA.

And, as a Caveman American I would like to say that Ron Pearlman does not speak for the entire Caveman community. He's sort of an embarrassment to us to be honest.

Just goes to show that an entire production crew can make anyone look good on film.  They must spend hours putting war paint on them, helping them show up, read their lines, feeding them gourmet meals, wiping their asses....

Hollywood's on strike? I literally haven't even noticed or heard. What's this all about? Who's striking against who? Are they "one of us" or just fuck em' all?

Yeah, it takes all that production crew and equipment to make a 20 minute episode.  I will just stick with individual youtube type creators who do all of it themselves.

Yup.

Musk needs to come out with AI actors that look 90% the part of all these fucktards.   Team up with Mike Judge or maybe Matt Stone and Trey Parker.

Swap first letters of first and last names while doing satire pieces that have AI actors.

Fucking watch the heads melt.

Out of curiosity, as I don't actually know, are those jobs also union? If they are union, where are the unions on this strike topic?

This is akin to the Bud Light effect. The leadership needs to be punished for their political agendas and pushing products that people don't want as much as the leaders think, etc. BUT, the only way to impact that leadership is to impact the bottom line which does effect all levels of employees.

Ron Perlman is as far lefty as lefty comes. I wish he'd have followed through with his threat to leave the U.S. when Trump was elected. There would be a lot less Hollywood Marxists if everyone who promised to leave actually did.

I watched a few minutes of the Pauly Shore video…enough to catch a writer making the point that they don’t want AI to rehash older material into new stuff.

I found it funny because that is all that Hollywood has been able to do over the last couple decades is to to rehash material that has already been written. It is rare that I go to the theater to see anything anymore because there is very little original content being produced (and that what is produced more often than not is pushing an agenda in the name of entertainment).

This post is grounded in reality, so it will likely be ignored. More fun to pile on rich celebs than actually taking the time to think about how many thousands of non-celebrity non-liberal workers will be affected by this. Easier to focus on the 1% we hate rather than the 99% that makes up all the support behind the scenes.
