| Lets say that your college room mate sells marijuana. Not just a few bags, but like a pound or so a week. Lets also say you suspect him of stealing a beautiful Dozier custom. What would you do? |
|
Get anything important/incrimentating that you own out of the room...as well as some extra clothes. Then go to public safety and turn him in. Otherwise when they find out, they will raid the room...including all your stuff and I can almost guarantee your roommate will claim he doesn't know anything about the pot and it must be yours. You don't want to have to deal with that or have the school/police suspecting you are involved and watching you the rest of the time you are there. |
|
If I ran into that, I would definately look for a new place ASAP. I am not saying I think pot is ok or not, just that it is illegal and could really screw your life up. If he happens to tick off the wrong person or gets behind on his payments to his dealer, seems some less than desirable stuff can happen. When you dabble in the realm there are inherent dangers that come with it. Some of them are , the legal system, undesirables (people). What if one of his buyers decides to make some quick cash and bust into your place for $$, guns or drugs? There have been instances around here where dealers/growers have had their houses busted into by people. They have guns and/or weapons and proceed to take everything and anything. What are you going to do? Call the police and tel them that someone broke in and stole your stash? All in all, it is a no win situation for you. What would you say to your brother or sister if they were in your shoes? If it was my brother/sister, I would remove him/her from the situation. Is friendship or just a roommate worth the potential legal, physical and monitary risk you are taking by willingly allowing this to continue or by subjecting yourself to his lifestyle choices? I am pretty against this whole situation. I know a guy in college who got his house raided by the cops during a party his roommate threw. He was out of town at his parents house. During the visit from the police, someone threw a bag of mushrooms into his room to get it off of their person. The cops checked his room and found it and charged him with it since it was in his room. He had to hire a lawyer, fight it, and end up doing a shitte load of community service. Dude, do yourself a favor, if you are really in this situation, take it seriously. That kind of volume is not a misdemeanor. Risks may seem like no big deal when you are not on the shit end of the stick. My friend was a great guy and it still effects him today. |

1) Rent storage unit or talk to a trustworthy friend about leaving some stuff at his place, put all firearms and personal property there... -or- Move out 2) Call DEA's or County/State anonymous tip line, report drug dealer... Remember, if he gets busted on his own terms, they'll sizeze YOUR stuff and sell it, then pay you what they think it's worth... P.S. When dealing with small time PDs, it's allways better to have the big guys (Sherrif/State Patrol/Feds) get the tip instead of Andy Griffith.. |
| I would think that since he is trafficking (wouldn't a lb a week count as trafficking?) in illegal drugs, your best bet is to find yourself in another residence as of sometime LAST week. How long before someone else leads the authorities there, on purpose or by chance, or to flip on the next guy up the ladder? Do you want to be there figuring out what to do when someone else goes Knock Knock with Mr. Sledgehammer? Now move yo ass.... |
|
I'm not sure you understand these guys. Get out tonight. Stay with a friend. Call your parents and get a motel. Whatever it takes. What would happen if your place gets raided tomorrow? Nothing good. I assure you. Ever had your cavities searched? Me either. I'd want to keep it that way. |

Task #1: Get your major property out (IM an ARF Member) Task #2: Get yourself out. Task #3: Get your minor property out. you can swap #1 and #2, depending on what you think is worth more. [;D] |

Looks like everyone already gave the good adivce: Get out of there. Quoted: 2 wrongs don't make a right, but 3 do. Take the knife, kill him with it, and smoke his dope. Win/Win/Win. No more roommate, no more drug problems, you get a new knife. [phony sarcasm]Don't really do this[/phony sarcasm] Hhahaha! |
| Is it him or one of his "buds" that stole your knife? If he's dealing that much dope, there's a good chance the local authorities may already know about him and he is under surveillance while they build their case against him. This is NOT a flame, but one has to wonder how much YOU are involved if you know that's he's selling a lb. or so of marijuana a week and you are still living there. I'm sure the authorities will ask the same question. You're just as guilty living there if you know what is going on. Get out now and distance yourself from your room mate as quickly as you can. If he did steal your knife, he is not a friend and will quickly turn on you as soon as TSHTF. Move out and if you find out he did steal your knife, kick his ass. Then, kick his ass anyway if he was dealing and putting you and your entire future in jeopardy without your knowledge. |
