So I got a bit distracted. My K5 (also an '87) was due emissions. So I grabbed a battery and pulled it out of the side yard. Attached File She went right through and passed with flying colors. The dudes at the emissions station are always surprised. I think they assume it's carborated. I guess a lot of folks with old trucks fail. That opened up another can of worms. I went to clean some junk out of the back and the back glass wouldn't roll down. So I crawled back there and took it all apart. I found a rusted cable and ordered a new one. I'll post pictures when I put it back together. It's an interesting setup. I started daily driving it and found it had a lazy eye. I ordered new retainers and got that fixed. Hoarding old GM junk actually paid off for once. I had the exact plastic push in nut jobber and ACTUALLY FOUND IT! Attached File Looking for one a those I ran across GM OEM headlight adjusters but I think they are Caddy. I could have made them work but oh well. Attached File The starter solenoid isn't actuating some of the time. So I will have to rebuild it. The driver's door lock actuator only works half the time. It's always something. I owe you guys a Rosey burn out video. The line lock works but the ratcheting shifter is having issues. I'll probably do the headliner and she might even get paint. I don't know. Sorry for the slow progress but life is happening too. |

On the headlight adjusters, I had to replace several in my 86 C10 and the parts store replacements suck. When adjusting the headlight if you have to turn them in push on the headlight to relieve spring pressure while doing it. If you don't the screw strips out the plastic nut. Don't ask me how I know. |

Non-update: I was going to fire up Rosey and take her for a drive. Maybe see about cleaning up some stuff. She runs like she's missing on 7 of her 6 cylinders. WTF? Then the wife unit came and grabbed me. The water heater was leaking. I've been daily driving the K5 though and it runs great. The top is leaking. I've got NOS weatherstrips for it. I might have to do that first. Too many projects; not enough time. |

Attached File I'd pay real money for the name and address of whoever designed this. Leaking 90 degree pipe on the GTP. Attached File Attached File You have to remove the battery, fuse box, coolant reservoir, coolant reservoir bracket, the belts, the alternator, the power steering pulley and the water pump in order to remove the accessory bracket to replace that stupid pipe. If I were still working at a dealership or had a lift I would have dropped the engine and resealed everything. What a mess. Rosey waits... |

No, I purchased the super cool guy aluminum ones from ZZ Performance. https://zzperformance.com/products/aluminum-coolant-elbows?_pos=1&_psq=coolant&_ss=e&_v=1.0 . . . . . ...and they shipped me the Dorman ones from the help section. ![]() But they came with a cool sticker. |
Those 90° bends really help with flow dynamics. ![]() There should be a 90° curved option to actually not back it up unless they need "coolant pressure" for some other patched together enhancement. |

I'm slacking and it's hot out. I haven't had time to mess with the car. Other life things have been happening. VGG bought a very similar car. This one has T-tops and a few more miles, but it's the same color (was the same color). I'd trade smoked paint for Michigan rust any day though. ![]() ABANDONED In Storage For 22 Years - Rare Turbo Buick! Will it RUN AND DRIVE Home 750 Miles? |

You would think he would learn his lesson about buying northern cars, but guess not. I was surprised how cleaned the paint looked compared to under the car. |
