Are there any reliable apps for Android that measure distances that you run? Preferably free, and I'm rooted if that matters.

I use RunKeeper on my Galaxy Note 4, and also used it previously on my iPhone. I like it and the price is right (free).  I've also used the Nike app in the past.

"My Tracks" by Google works well on my Samsung Galaxy S5

I use Map My Run.  Works great and saves your workouts for you and emails you a weekly report.

I used that this morning. I think I'm gonna stick with it--it did exactly what I wanted.

Another vote for RunKeeper.

It maps your route for you, keeps track of distance, time, pace and elevation. If you go into the charts it'll even give you a graph of your pace over time and how it relates with elevation changes.

Good deal. I'm trail running so that will help out a lot.

This, and I think it integrates with My Fitness Pal, which is nice.

Samsung has an app called S Health. It may be pre-installed on your phone. Does all sorts of things. You should check it out if you haven't.

I use RunDouble.  I got it for the Couch To 5k program.  You get the first few weeks of the program free.  I paid $5 to get the whole program but I think the app itself is free.  You can track your distance and speed with the program.

I use the free version of Endomondo.  It's pretty nice, except you can't export the map of your activity as far as I know.

This. Especially if you bike occasionally...
