Does anyone listen to his show? I consider myself to have fairly conservative values and beliefs but for some reason I find this guy absolutely annoying. I'm not trying to start an argument but am just curious if I'm the only one who feels this way.

You're not the only one. I catch the end of his program sometimes on my commute home (when I get away from the office on time, i.e., rarely) and I find him very obnoxious. The callers seem to love him, but I can't believe he would sway anybody from "moderate" to "conservative" with his show (which probably isn't the point - like I said, I haven't heard him much). ETA: But, to be fair, I really like listening to Boortz when I get a chance (also rarely), and I disagree strongly with him on many issues. Probably has more to do with the personality/delivery than the content. YMMV. |

He left Reno just over a year ago and went to somewhere in Washington where he had lived before. I'm not up on all the details but his wife had a serious ongoing illness and the doctors here felt they had done all they could for her. His contract was up but he had to get a restraining order freeing him to leave because he had become very popular and they (KKOH-Citadel Broadcasting) tried to force him to stay. At least, that was my take on things and I know there are things I don't know. As a host, I thought he had an annoying and somewhat shrill style but as time went on I got to see a guy who is really good people. He broadcast out of a home studio here and if his young daughter came in he wouldn't shoo her out, he'd talk to her on air, sometimes for a couple of minutes. Thats the kind of guy he was. I'd welcome him back in a heartbeat. |

I was wondering what happened to old Rusty Humphries. He used to be the 'local guy' on KKOH in Reno until about a year ago, when he was replaced by The other day, while I was waiting for the three-hours delayed Savage Nation to come on, strange music began to play and WTF WHY IS RUSTY FUCKING HUMPHRIES ON INSTEAD OF MICHAEL SAVAGE????!!?! Fortunately, he was pulled within a few minutes and we get our hours-old repeat broadcast of good old Savage. Crisis averted. I hadn't brought the courage or give-a-shittedness to call the station and ask what the fuck was, indeed, up. |
| Used to like listening to his show when it was on radio here, then they replaced him with Michael Reagan (who I liked more), and eventually they put Savage on (about time). If he had a different timeslot I might find an internet station to listen to him on. He can be annoying at times, yeah, but they call can. |
