Am going to get a new DVD  player and the one i am looking at has SACD playback- except it sends it through the RCA cables instead of Digital (optical) sdo they do this to prevent copying? or what... I thought I heard that they all do this but it seems strange to get such good sound only to puch it through crappy RCA  Anybody????

Actually, from what I've heard, the optical connections tend to induce jitter, which negates most of their advantage.  High quality composite connections (vs. component) are arguably better - yes, this means RCA for audio still, as component only makes a difference to video.  And digital (in general) better lends itself to copy protection - see all the talk about HD image copy protection and talks with cable companies regarding DVI and HDCP.
