EDITED FOR CLARITY
---------------------------
A number of my posts, and ppl defending me, were deleted on the SASS Wire forum when I attempted to reply to Hill City Rebel's personal attacks and others. This presents a very one sided argument and I don't wish to continue it onto this board, especially now that it seems that I have an internet stalker by the name of Kid Raven who is tracking my posts on this board and on the Wire.  Scary stuff.

Also, Hill City Rebel has threatened to physically hurt me and has called me a number of ethnic/racial slurs and all of these PM's have been forwarded to a moderator on SASS Wire and he has informed me they have been forwarded to the Wild Bunch, the actual owners of the SASS Wire. I guess he doesn't like Asians.

I will not be posting on the SASS Wire anymore as there are others who obviously feel like he does toward Asians and that is too bad, because there are a number of good people who frequent that forum.

I agree.  The rules should be rewritten to conform to the spirit of the competition.

Firing on half cock?  Half Cock is supposed to be a non-firing position.  DEFECTIVE WEAPON.  Banned from competition until a gunsmith and inspection certify it is in working condition.

Light powder charge?  Make a standard load.  JUST LIKE BLACKPOWDER CURRENTLY REQUIRES.  SO the precident is already there.  Too light?  PROCEDURAL ERROR.

Rewelded lever actions?  Not standard pre 1900 design.  BANNED until fixed.

Other mods (trigger jobs, tuning, etc) are fine.  But changing the basic ways the guns work should not be allowed.

It's a shame these rules would have to be put in place, but people can be assholes when prizes are on the line.

It's not just the equipment.  More and more the courses are being laid out by the speed gunners to try and drive times down.  If they can't "flow" right into the next position, they will complain.

The club I shot at had a "Traditional" class, which was 45s or 44s, no mousefarts.  And you competed against similarly gunned guys.  Luckily we had more than enough shooters that liked the real thing.

Been a few years, this working weekends has really fouled me up for shooting period let alone CAS.

My opinion was that a power factor needed to be implemented for some classes.

I think cowboy action shooting is totally silly, but the idea is interesting.

once you try it you get hooked :)

Most if not all the ppl you meet at the shoots are real nice ppl, only when some get home and get on the internet do they turn into fraggin' Iceholes.

One guy brought his gun to the range and let me try it.

My hands are just too small for shooting single action revolvers at any type of speed.

I'd enjoy watching though.

Was it a Ruger Vaquero?  Those things are way too big for my hands.  I shoot 1851 RM Conversions and their grips are really small and just perfect for me.  Cowboy guns nowadays come in all shapes and sizes, there are some out there that will definitely feel better to you than some others.  I know for a fact if you show up to one of our bi-weekly shoots, and other clubs do the same, if you don't have some guns, they'll lend you some to shoot.

Sure sounds like it by your post. Sounds like you're doing IPSC with race guns, only in clothes from last century.

The idea of SASS is good on paper, but I'd much rather it was stock guns & period correct ammo than Robbie Leatham in a pair of chaps.

Until someone comes up with that .org, I'll stay in 21st century pants.

No, I have shot a Ruger Vaquero before, but this one was an inexpensive, .38 caliber revolver, I can't recall the make.  It had old fashioned style bluing on it.
