| Who's more elite? |

I remember sitting down with an Instructor for the military, he was a former Ranger.
He said your avg SEAL was young, and while a jack of all trades they were an expert in none. He said DELTA was older and had significantly more experience and were much more elite as there were far fewer when compared to the number of SEALS. |

Wow. That's in pretty poor taste. According to this site, there were 20-35 enemy combatants by Lutrell's account. That's 20-35 people who knew a whopping four Navy SEALs were there in the area (and were outfitted for recon) and setup an ambush for them and a lucky RPG took out the transport helicopter trying to rescue them. Which one has a book and a movie about getting wiped out by 8-10 goat herders? Not at all my area of expertise, but isn't one of the main beefs with the whole situation that the enemy wouldn't have been able to get "lucky" had some standard operating procedures been followed? I thought the team Luttrell was on ignored advice from people who had been operating in that area, and the QRF helicopter rushed ahead of its armed escort to get guys on the ground 2-3 minutes faster than it would have otherwise. |
