| Fuck them i'll never shop there again. they called the cops on me after one of the bag boys told the manager that i had a gun in my truck. i was on my way home from a hunting trip and my buddy was waiting in the truck and all rifles were securely cased and unloaded. cops and security were waiting and asked to see that no ammo was stashed together with the guns. after showing i.d. and letting them see that all legal, the said you are free to go. THEY WON"T SEE MY BIZZNESS AGAIN! |

Dude, that sucks. Unfortunately, their ignorance = your problems. When you get through the whirlwind part of this, I hope there is some education you can offer these unenlightened souls. I really don't know what, but I would hope for some sort of positive outcome. Thanks, and Regards, Semper Gumby Rick |

That sucks. No such problem at the Safeway here. I went into town today to get dog food and the check out kid at the Thriftway saw my carry permit when I got my debit card. He asked how long I had one and a few other questions all the while grinning like a Chesire Cat. Turned out he'd just gotten his. This is a pretty firearm friendly community. |
Dominick's(one of the regional grocery stores in the Chicago area) is owned by Safeway. Let's just say I don't shop there-too freakin' expensive. |
Safeway also owns Randal's/Tom Thumb. I suppose those chains are only in TX though. Randal's and Tom Thumb are generally a step above Kroger, Albertson's, Winn Dixie, etc. SO their subsidiaries are necessarily low quality. |
In Illinois, Fred Meyer=Kroger=Food 4 Less. They are cheap and they sell big portions of stuff but you can get the same stuff at Jewel or Cub |
Ain't it great to live in an open carry state! I'm so thankful we don't have to put up with all that crap here. Some day I'm just gonna have to walk down the street with my AR just because I can. |
| the rifles were in their cases but the cases could be seen laying on the back seat of the crew cab. my buddy later told me that he noticed the bagboy checking out what was in our truck as he helped a woman load groceries in her trunk. i'm not going to do anything except to shop elswhere. |
| Are you from Hawaii? I thought guns were illegal there? h.gif |

Dude that's messed up! What island you live on? What safeway was it? Technically by the law you aren't supposed to stop anywhere between the legal points of travel with firearms. These points include to and from home to hunting range gushop/smith sale/purchase etc etc. I aint preachin to ya, i hunt every weekend and usually stop somewhere along the way. I've stoped by many gas stations or lil stores to pick up breakfast or cold beverage after a day in the field and never had a problem like that. Not even when cased long guns where clearly visible in the bed of my pick up. Lil chicken shit video game playin momma's boy bagger went and cried when he saw a big bad gun. More worse the manager went and did same thing. Sorry to hear of your luck Stone |

Technically by the law you aren't supposed to stop anywhere between the legal points of travel with firearms. These points include to and from home to hunting range gushop/smith sale/purchase etc etc. Perhaps in YOUR state, but that is not the law everywhere. And if that is the law where you live, it conflicts with the 2nd Amendment which says YOU (you and me, the People) have a right to Keep (own, possess) and Bear (to carry, transport, and in short have handy) Arms (and the 2nd does not have limitation on types of Arms, could be swords, daggars, or rayguns). |

Dude, you are lucky you aren't locked up! Hawaii's asinine gun laws clearly state that you CANNOT go anywhere with guns but home/range home, home/hunt/home, home/gunsmith/home, etc- no stops in between. Lucky for you the cops were either not aware of, or not interested in enforcing, this law. I agree that the Safeway 1911fan |
Safeway is in the East too. They are all over VA. we shop there cos' its cheaper than Giant. those are pretty much our choices here, Giant or Safeway. Harris Teeter is way expensive. we have Trader Joes and Fresh Feilds for the soy/tofu loving tree huggers too. |
