mea culpa...
I have repented: henceforth I will always refer to smoothbore firearms as "SHOTGUNS." |

I have an 870 ready to go for home defense (plus a G17 and a WASR 10/63 in different locations) I feel totally comfortable with it in that role and I I’ve always used pumps since I was little but if there was ever a situation where I’m leaving my house with a long gun it will certainly be a rifle

I love me a 12 gauge, and I’ll always keep one around. But if I have to go mobile, the shotgun is getting stashed so I can carry more ammo.

From the days when all the gun rags touted the RRA DEA rifle as the greatest ever. Those were the days when Magpul made magpuls, Bushmaster was Tier 1, Eotechs and vertical grips were awesome!

Shot guns work great for shooting foul.

Against an armored stack of black helicopter-delivered agents of the New World Order, which are coming through the front door-
I would prefer to face-shoot them with a Benelli m2 loaded with #4 buck, over an AR. |

The left side is all banged up from being carried via a sling (see pictures from Katrina), but internally it appeared to be unfired, it's not now |
Never follow anyone shorter than you; they can walk under things that you can't.

they do have a few uses, i guess it depends on what i need it for. If im expecting multiple bad guns im going AR or semi auto .308
hunting birds though ill use a shotgun |

IIRC I read somewhere that when a big game hunter (Africa I think) would just wound something and it crawled off they would send the lackeys in the bush to look for it and that they would be armed with shotguns. Probably 12 or 10 gauge.
Made perfect sense to me. |

In the right environment a shotgun will be fine. I'd want additional weapons on hand as the guns run out, if there is no opportunity to reload in a timely manner
No way would I be trusting those DAPS and side SAPIs to keep from getting bitten Maybe they're better than nothing |
