Using a gas powered engine is smart, that way you don't have to worry about 220V.

Pretty sure I'd go with this combo.
16" AR and Mark25

But who knows ... tomorrow it may be a SAM7R and USPT45. Decision, decisions.

What would be your "SHTF " COMBO? If you can grab 1 rifle and 1 handgun? If cost was exactly the same and if you would never be able to get any spare parts or aftermarket items. This is a SHTF scenario where your guns are based on performance and ability as is. I think I would choose a Cz Bren 2 11" 5.56 with a Walther PPQ Navy or a Colt Mk18 and a Cz p-10C. What are your thoughts? Thanks for your help!

I've said for a long time I'd be tempted by a scoped 22 rifle w/ iron sights (like a Ruger 10/22) and a 357 or 44 Magnum pistol.   You could kill almost anything you needed w/ careful shots from the 22 and carry lots of ammo.   The revolver would be for emergency use up close.

If I’m bothering with a pistol in a situation like this, it’s probably going to be my P938.  The only practical niche for the handgun here is to conceal.  Most problems are going to be rifle problems.

I've come to this conclusion as well. I no longer carry a pistol if a rifle is an option.

For small game, I'd consider a .22 pistol but would probably be better served with a .22 conversion bolt for my AR.

There are two X300 mounts.
The one on mine is the "B" version. You can see on the kydex where the weapon light thumbscrew is located. It fits like a glove in the BlackPoint holster.

I have an "A" version also, but I haven't tried it in the holster. I don't think the "A" model would fit very well.

I would go with a lightweight AR15, 16" barrel.

The type of handgun doesn't matter that much. I'd probably opt for a G19, although an M&P9 would be fine too. More likely to obtain replacement G19 mags. 9 mm so ammo is light and available. I wouldn't feel bad with a .45 1911, or a .357 S&W 66, or any of a range of other handguns. Regardless I'd probably want two spare mags/speedloaders for defense use.

Same for me!

Would probably have a TA44 or Aimpoint on the rifle because of the weight savings and I wouldn't be needing the magnification. Anybody thinking they will be sniping at 500 meters when the SHTF will not last very long when the SHTF. Low impact, and avoiding confrontation would be the name of the game.

If I am bugging in then yes I would obviously have a purpose built rifle for a static defense but bugging out? Light fast and built for close engagements.

One of the below. With IR laser of course. Night OPs is where its at!!

For war, me too.

For a SHTF fantasy, sometimes it’s nice to be able to conceal a weapon.

A lightweight AR15 with an Acog or other optic that doesn’t depend on batteries and handgun in a common caliber (.45, 9mm or .357).

Suppressed 9.5" SR-30 + Five Seven w/longer threaded barrel

The SR-30 nudges out the 16" SR-15 because it's inside the same footprint, but can run subs and offers more energy on game all shots being equal.

The Five Seven beats all 22lr because it runs reliably and offers 20 rounds in factory magazines.  The Five Seven beats out everything else because it offers 20 rounds in factory magazines, in a very lightweight loaded package AND >2000fps bullets.

Pistols are a waste of 2 pounds

Since the OP didn't define what was going on to make the SHTF...I'll just be hiding out on the ol' family farm..

Give me:
Rifle - .22lr bolt gun (or a 12ga pump if I can have a shotgun instead)

Pistol - AR pistol with LPVO

For someone who doesn't have a team to back them up it could be nice to have something if the rifle goes down at a bad time.   It's not like you can take a knee, call a timeout and unjam things.   Also in a long term scenario you may have put your rifle down to do something that requires both hands.  The pistol should still be on you.

I'll take just a rifle and as much ammo as I can muster and strap the knife.  Do not need a pistol, will not use it and if I do, game is already over

However, a 22lr rifle and 2k ammo is nothing to carry which would leave room other things

For that concept I'd bet a combination gun would serve you even better.  12 ga., .22LR, and a common and widely available centrefire rifle cartirgde suitable for most game (like .30-06 or .308).  Kill whatever you can with the .22LR; kill small, fast (including flying) animals with the shotgun barrels and use them for defence up close, and use the rifle barrel for all other game (or game that has to be taken at longer ranges for whatever reason) and for people at various ranges.

If the space is there in one's pack, maybe throw in a couple of einstecklaufs, perhaps one for the same rifle cartridge or a different common one, and/or one which uses your sidearm's ammo.

Regarding my choice for SHTF weapon, it really depends on what is meant by SHTF.  If it means a prolonged situation that can result in having to deal with human threats, with or without armour, in or out of vehicles, exposed or behind barriers, at various ranges, and also possibly having to hunt larger game for food or defend against wild predators, and with a general scarcity of supplies, then I guess I'd want a full-powered cartridge that's commonly available.

Since for me the FAL is a known factor, tends to go for long periods without parts breakage, and is just very familiar to me as far as use (moreso than an AR at this point), I'd go with a FAL with a 17" barrel and using a lightweight lower (not sure if I'd go with a para or fixed stock), scope mount, TA-33, handguard-mounted sling swivel, and with some accurizing measures taken.  If we can have accessories, I'd have a .22LR conversion kit for it as well.  In that spirit, having one of Vern Smith's switch-barrel FAL uppers as a base with the 5.56mm conversion kit would be even better.

For pistol either a Hi Power in 9mm or a 1911 in 9mm or .45 ACP.  Not sure.  Alloy frame preferred if an option for a particular type.

If I had to grab out of what I have, then my Hi Power with more visible sights and my 17"-barreled FAL (which is irons-only, currently).
