I have a Thinkpad R51 running XP. It is really cool, except sometimes (not always) it takes forever to start up. It seems to stall out just before the desktop icons appear. I hit control-alt-delete and start up firefox, which pops right up, and surf while it takes its sweet time getting everything else going. Any ideas? |

It's part of the Microsoft conspiracy. Now that Vista is ~ 6 months away, they're slowing down all the XP computers via "Windows Update". This will encourage people like you and I to either get new computers with Vista, or upgrade our current machines and get Vista. Either way, Redmond wins. Maybe I'm kidding.....maybe not. (My desktop PC is doing the same thing by the way - I blame the wife) |
