Hello all. I am one of the few black men on this board but I do want to state that today is a sad day for me. Being one of the few black people in the country who did not vote from Obama because of his views. Yes as a Black man I am proud to be alive to see a black president, but is he the right one. Born in a strong family I was taught to work for what you want not to except hand outs just like most of you. I was taught not to squander away what people before me faught to make possible. Yet I fear Obama is just the opposite.
People died for me to have the right to make something with my life and to be able to be succesful in life and to stand apart. To be able to have more in life. Yet My country, my people elect a person who wants to reward those who do nothing and make me the one who works hard to have what little bit I do pay for it. Yes I "make" $250k + but hell I am a small business owner so after everything ( taxes and business expense I really make less ) I will be paying for everyone elses mortgages, car payments and anything else Obama sees fit to tax me more for. I have been there, down and out living less than paycheck to paycheck but you know what I did not ask for a single dime from anyone.... I earned every right I have including being a law abiding gun owner yet all the efforts in the past to make this possible is soon to be gone. Today is a said day to be an Amarican, sad day to be a proud Black American. Thank you guys for letting me vent for awhile and sorry my post is so long. |

I'm proud to know you. Congrats on being able to see past the color and to the issues and for not being deceived.
as a complete white bread I am sure many black would call me racist for not supporting Obama, but it never was about race. there are many blacks I would be proud to have as My President. barack o is NOT one of them. I've said several times here already.I can understand why a black person would vote for Obama. I can even understand it and not hold it against them. It's everyone else that voted for him because he was black and because of his political beliefs that I have a grudge against tonight.

I'd venture to say that 99.999% of the people on this board (and just as much that share our love for this country) would have no problem electing someone as POTUS regardless of their "race", "gender" or "religion". Issues are all I care about - and me despising Obama has **zero** to do with race and everything to do with the man's character and policies. |

Welcome and very well put post. I think it's a crying shame that the first black president is a commie. Just as I think it's a shame that the first woman put up by these our two major parties was Hilary! *shudder*

I dont usually kick in, being a newbie myself,
But I have been sick since I saw the results ! I love and served this country , to SAVE it from the commies ! I dont care what color a man is, I vote for a person based on his or her belief, and experence I feel like puking ! we have all been kicked in the groin.... pray for America |

RMiles...I have a very good friend who is a VERY conservative, straight laced, American guy.....he happens to be black, though that has never made much of a bit of difference to me. Tonight, I take solace in knowing that there is someone out there, moreso than I, who is really worried about the direction this country is going...and it is him.
It ain't about color.....it's about culture. If obama was as dedicated of an American as John McCain, everyone here would have voted for him...because he was a good American, not because he was black. Sadly, the media makes VERY sure to portray any, average American who happens to be black as some kind of pariah, while they hold the thug culture up to be the pinnacle of the black experience. There is a reason for this..... Anyhow, welcome to ARFCOM, hang out, be one of the guys and enjoy the company of like minded people. |

I thought about this before the election and came to the conculsion that I would certainly consider voting for a black president, just not Obama, as I do not feel that he is the right person for this position. Reminds me of being back in 7th grade and we were having class elections. One of the black candidates (a Jesse Jackson wannabe) accused me of not liking him because he was black. I replied, "No––-I don't like you because you're an asshole." I voted for a black girl instead |
