This is kind of an interesting video.  My rack is similar to the one used.  I've never had to drop that heavy of a load on the safety bars though.  Glad he was alright.

I had a similar rack (York Barbell) and dumped it on Craigslist for an Elitefts.

Awesome video.

I've been meaning to upgrade, but I find something else I'd rather upgrade.  I really want some bumper plates.

From what I have read the reason plates are made with the hole 8" off the ground is so that it does not crush you if it falls on you.

What kind of low-rent, shit hole gym would have its members using a residential-grade power rack?

That pop-pin stuff is fine in a basement home gym, but subjecting those little pins to that kind of abuse on a regular basis in a commercial environment is an injury waiting to happen.
