State Department workers pried into the supposedly secure passport files of presidential contenders Hillary Rodham Clinton, Sens. Barack Obama and John McCain, abashed officials admitted Friday in a revelation that had Condoleezza Rice telephoning the candidates to personally apologize.

The companies that provided the contractors were The Analysis Corp. and Stanley Inc. Stanley is a Virginia-based company that earlier this week won a five-year, $570-million government contract extension to support passport services.

According to agency officials, the first Stanley employee improperly accessed Obama's records on Jan. 9 and was fired within days. The second contractor, employed by The Analysis Corp., pried into similar records on Feb. 21 but was not terminated. The third incident involved another Stanley employee who was swiftly fired.

Pretty much point out the bullshit when it came to light or at least NOT discourage states from opening back up.  Cuomo forced covid patients into nursing home (to drive up body count imo)  resulting in thousands of deaths  alone. Not to mention the deaths And misery resultant from the destroyed lives and careers.

Then take up your argument with Cuomo, or better yet the people who feel their rights were trampled on, should take it up with them. None of that has anything to do with Trump. IMHO this highlights one of his most presidential moments. He knows the role of his position and has held firm to it. The last thing we should want is some dick brain as POTUS that thinks he is the end all be all

Because Trump attacking Governors who are, in the public's perception, taking actions to save lives would have gone over well with the media.  He would have been called a murderer.

Instead he gave the governors their Constitutional RIGHT to run their own states though this "crisis".  Red ones prospered and Blue ones were run into the ground.  When your enemy is making a mistake, you let them.  He couldn't have stopped it if he tried.  If 2 cars are about to collide, does your stepping in between, regardless of your good intention, change anything??

Politics, how does it work??

There is another way of looking at things. When a couple of times Trump criticized Kemp opening up GA, it put EVERYONE's attention on GA in a big way. Of course that was because they were sure they would have a reason to oust both Kemp and Trump yet again.

By all accounts they were wrong, Kemp was right and both active infection and death numbers have continued to fall (after almost a month). Be it accidental or on purpose, Kemp proved the democrats, MSM and "medical experts" wrong AND Trump brought the nations attention to the situation to be certain they noticed.

But I'm generally an optimist, LOL.    YMMV

Why could Trump not open the country back up with the power the Constitution grants the federal government through the Commerce clause?  Too many lives have been destroyed for him to have just hung back while this has continued.

Not sure how many here were thinking Durham was going to take down Obama or Biden.
For the longest time a lot of people expected Obama to skate but expected Comey, Clapper, etc to go down
If Q is to be believed, Obama isnt even giving testimony until 2021 at the earliest. Assuming R holds the senate in 2020.

There is a separate investigation into Biden that Durham is not working on.

I agree. He has done amazingly well during all of this. Used Federal government when needed (ventilators, floating hospitals, quick setup field hospitals, getting medications made) while letting the governors decide what to do in their states.

Just compare SD vs MI. Both female governors. SD has looked great through all of this compared to MI. Gretchen and the other Dems are way over their heads.

I had another thought on the Queen protect the King
Michelle Obama would be the queen if FBHO is the king
IF she gets into the presidential race, either for VP or Prez., any attempt from Trumps administration to go after FBHO (with his husband, err wife, in the running) would be seen as a politically motivated act; to go after the competition and an abuse of power.

Just by entering the race, Queen Michelle can protect King Barrack.

Coincidentally Michelle Obama can be said to be a drag queen but thats a whole nother convo. Floppy Mike earned that nickname

Quoted:
Governor Pritzker's nightmare  Executive Order power trumped by Illinois Supreme Court case law and Lisa Madigan written opinion

By Kirk Allen on May 18, 2020

Illinois Governor JB Pritzker has been issuing executive orders for the last two months, and as people began to understand their rights and push back he took to threats and intimidation in hopes people would comply with his inappropriate and apparent illegal executive orders.

We first exposed a 2001 Attorney General opinion regarding the limitation of 30 days for Executive orders in this article.  The Governor denied knowledge of the legal opinion from the very office representing him. Many of the Governor's defenders quickly dismissed the opinion because of it being an informal opinion written during a Republican administration. We find those excuses laughable because the legal analysis is what is important.

Pritzker's nightmare exposed  Lisa Madigan legal opinoin

Lisa Madigan issued her opinion on the applicability of executive orders to the Illinois State Police Merit Board in 2013.  This appears to be yet another legal opinion either overlooked or ignored by Pritzker and his legal team.  The value in this opinion lies not only from the fact it is signed by Lisa Madigan, but it is backed by an Illinois Supreme Court case.

Applicability of Executive Orders  "The Constitution provides that "[t]he Governor, by Executive Order, may reassign functions among or reorganize executive agencies which are directly responsible to him." Ill. Const. 1970, art. V,  11. This is the only reference to executive orders in the Constitution and, as a result, the only circumstance in which an executive order clearly carries the force and effect of law."

"In general, article V, section 8, of the Illinois Constitution provides that "[t]he Governor shall have the supreme executive power, and shall be responsible for the faithful execution of the laws." Citing this authority, the Illinois courts have suggested that an executive order may be a permissible method by which the Governor can execute an existing law, but that an executive order is not a vehicle for establishing a new legal requirement. Buettell v. Walker 59 Ill. 2d 146, 153-54 (1974). .  Accordingly, the Governor does not have power to legislate by executive order, and, therefore, unless authorized by law, an executive order relating to matters other than executive reorganization can be no more than a policy directive to agencies under the Governor's control. To conclude otherwise would cede to the Governor legislative powers which he is prohibited from exercising by the separation of powers doctrine. See Ill. Const. 1970, art. II,  1; see generally Ill. Const. 1970, art. IV,  1."

Additional language in the opinion also points to the most basic legal analysis on statutory construction, a point we have written about dozens if not hundreds of times. Applying Madigan's analysis to the language in the

Lou Dobbs just played a clip where brennen said he welcomes being able to talk to Durham.

Brennan still hasn't been interviewed.

That's real comforting.

Edit: Tom fitton is on now and said this confirms this is not a serious criminal investigation.

Double edit: I will look for it and I would encourage everyone to tune in to Lou Dobbs two hours from now to hear this replay segment.

I would love to hear what some of the folks here think about what Tom Fitton has to say regarding what he sees going on with the DOJ lack of action.

Why would you interview the target of your investigation? If you have a solid case, you don't need to interview them until after their indictment is unsealed and they are arrested. And see if they wave their 5th or want to talk.

You don't interview them and tip them off. You let them think they are safe.

Durham and Huber are both serious criminal investigations.

Because the Commerce Clause is a gross overreach of Federal power, promoted by activist judiciary who want to see the Republic destroyed and replaced with Federal rule.

Out of the 113,114 employees in the DOJ I think you could lay off at least 50,000 if you hired Judicial watch to do investigations.

THIS GOP LAWMAKER IN MINNESOTA MAY HAVE JUST FIGURED OUT A WAY TO END FUTURE LOCKDOWNS

ttps://www.thenationalsentinel.com/2020/05/14/this-gop-lawmaker-in-minnesota-may-have-just-figured-out-a-way-to-end-future-lockdowns/

Well, a state Republican lawmaker in Minnesota may have found a way to not only make businesses great again but to ensure that governors and mayors think twice before quickly moving to shut down their economies in the future.

As PJ Media reports:

One enterprising state lawmaker in Minnesota has posed an interesting question: What if state and local governments had to compensate businesses for the mandated closures in the same way they have to compensate landowners when they use eminent domain to seize their property for roads?

Such a bill would not only provide businesses a way to make themselves whole after lockdowns but it would also make governors and local officials more hesitant to extend the orders shutting down broad swaths of the economy.

The only thing that bill will do is shake the money tree. The Lawyer enrichment act might be a good title for the bill.

All the laws in the world are useless when tyrants refuse to follow them and their sycophants refuse to prosecute and protect them......see pretty much everything government has done since 2008 for reference
