My elderly grandmother was just ambulated to the ER with chest pains. I left her house, came home to tend to my elderly dogs and eat some dinner then going to the Hospital. She's tough as nails and has had open heart surgery twice and a slew of other problems and she just keeps on going and going.

She was an Army medic in her younger years during WWII then retired from the nursing profession many many years ago. She is one tough cookie!

When EMS showed up to her house, the medic touched her side and she just about come unglued from pain. Apparently, she fell Sunday and didn't tell anybody so we're thinking she's got a couple cracked/broken ribs as well as the chest pain.

Family is at the ER now with her.

So apparently there are almost 100 people there at the ER, most with the flu. They looked at her heart and everything seems to be ok for now. They do think she cracked 2 ribs though. Unfortunately, she isn't "priority" and those patients have been waiting 4-6 hours to be seen.

The Hospital is so packed, they are putting people on stretchers in the hallways. My uncle might take her to the Hospital he works at.
