Is it just me, or does that show seem to be a great way for someone to get shot. If you haven't seen the show, it's basically like Candid Camera, except rather than a funny prank, they put the victim into a situation where they are essentialy terrified that they are going to be killed.

For example, a kid (the victim) and his buddy (the inside man who set him up) are at a ranch. The buddy asked his friend (victim) to help him with some stuff at his job running a wood chipper. As they're getting ready to work, the inside man moves a tarp from the top of a pile of chips. The victim notices the partially concealed pile of bloody meat and a bloody, shredded nametag. About that time, from inside the barn, you hear the chipper fire up and some blood and meat come out of the spout along with screaming.

Thinking there's been an accident, the victim runs to the intake end and sees a body half in the chipper. Just then a guy comes storming into the barn asking what the hell they were doing there. He gets very threatening, eventually hinting that he's going to kill the victim and run him through the chipper. The threatening guy is not visibly armed, but he is blocking the only exit.

At that point, I quite honestly would have drawn my gun, and any furtive movements from the threat would have probably ended in me shooting him.

What kind of idiot thinks that's a good joke to play on his friend?

didnt one "actor" get beat up by a "victim" on that show. it was a fake carjacking or something.

Wouldn't surprise me in the least. I'm actually amazed that there hasn't been a shooting-they push the gag pretty far.

And if I were on the jury in such a case, I damn sure wouldn't vote to convict.

I think it's fake. The cameras are supposed to be hidden yet its looks like there is a camera guy filming it

I have asked that question time and again...but I bet when people set up their friends some of the questions ar.....

1 "Have you ever seen you friend fight?"

2 "Does your friend like or own knives?"

3 "Does your friend like guns, carry a gun or go shooting as a hobby?"

On the flip side, they could seriously burn the inside guy by collaborating with the victim and staging a shooting....

The couple of times I watched that show, I was thinking exactly the same thing.

I really hope nobody ever pulls anything like that on me.

Yeah the set up was they picked up a hitchhiker & the guy had a fake head in a bowling ball bag & was acting nutty. Then the "victim" of the prank preceded to beat the fuck out of the actor who was in the front seat. they broke it up pretty fast though.

Yeah. I saw the episode in the OP. I thought the same thing. The "bad guy" was not obviously amed. Just yelling and acting intimidating. I think that anger would be my reaction, not fear.

Watched one last night. Girl working a suicide hotline or something. Creepy guy stabs other woman working and corners her. In one shot you can clearly see her reaching into her purse for something, I was almost positive this guy was about to either get shot or tazed.

Much to my disappointment she ended up grabbing a stapler...

I just saw it for the first time last night.  My very first thought was "I hope they screen potential victims for CCW".

Locations are bogus.. they filmed two at the same place - Sagebrush Cantina, Calabasas, CA. The poisoned food one and the sixth sense kid kinda one.. One said it was in New Mexico or something

+1

Some of the actors really suck too. You can tell they're putting on for the camera.

The only ones I thought were pretty decent were the very first few of the first season. I'm guessing they were the ones that were done before the ass-kicking and lawsuit stuff happened. Those few shows were really funny though.

I do have to agree though... Anyone pulling stuff like that had better be very careful that they don't run into someone carrying a gun.

Someone "might get their eye put out". Or their head blown off.

I wouldn't hold that against him, but the whole PETA thing is ridiculous.

I saw a skit like that on MadTV (I think) where they sneak a guy dressed as a vampire into the bathroom of a famous gangsta rapper.

"Oh, man, there's a fucking vampire in there!" "BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG..."

That show is nothing compared to the one my wife watches on one of the spanish channels. They actually pull out guns and get into fake fire fights and put the gun to the victims head like they're gonna shoot him .

Not sure if it was scare tactics, but I saw a show where they did just that.  New secretary (the mark) at a Dr's office.  Doc comes out like a zombie, IIRC, is supposed to be scaring the secretary.  Secretary pulls out a piece and guns him down.  The guy doing the set up on the chick, ended up set up.  It was great!

I can imagine...

[zombie] "braaaaaains! "

[perpetrator of prank] "Ahhhh! Zombies! HELP!"

[arfcommer] "Finaly! Come get some you zombie motherfuckers!

*sounds of rifle fire and screaming*

[perpetrator] "Holy fuck dude! You just wasted a scare tactics guy!
