Anyone else "sort of" proud of their scars?  I kinda like mine, they all have a story.  Some good, some bad, sometimes I just did something stupid, and it reminds me not to do that again.  Just looked in the mirror and noticed the scar on my eyebrow.

Proud?  No.

I've got one from an incident involving an ice-scraper and an angry little brother.  I didn't realize how effective of a shank those things where

alot of mine are small little scraps from the navy

I have a couple of facial scars and a couple of knuckle scars from tussles over the years. I'm not exactly proud of them, but at this point I'm far beyond regrets.

The rest are from things like wrecking out on a skateboard, hernia and gall bladder operations, dog bites, etc.

6 of the 7 good ones saved me. I dont mind them hanging around

I don't even remember what most of them are from.

Maybe "proud" is not the word I'm looking for...that's why I quoted it in the OP.

It's more of a reminder of where I've been and what I've done...

That's what I'm talking about...The one on my eyebrow, was me slipping on the ice and hitting my Jeep bumper, not a good story...but hey shit happens.

I think most scars add to your character as you get older, even if they're on your face, as long as they're not hideously huge.

Not really...I only have two...they serve to remind me of times when my judgement wasn't what it should have been...

Good story fodder for the kids and grandkids.

"Hey, where's that one from?"

I have one on my arm people ask if it is a shark bite, I landed on hedge trimmer blades after falling off a ladder, the scar is shaped kinda like what I imagine a shark bite would look like.

I'm honest when people ask...like I said, the only visible one on my face is from falling on the ice.

only really noticeable one is the 2" gauge on my elbow.  A buddy of mine jumped on my back and I had a pen/pencil in my FR pocket.  I bent over and swung back and forth and put a nice gauge in my elbow with the pen/pencil...It basically just ripped it so it bled pretty good.  It's kinda hard to see cause it's on my elbow.  I do have a few small ones on my thumb/fingers too, but that is about it I think.

I have a 5 or 6 inch semi circle scar on the left rear side of my head from my cousin hitting me in the side of the head with a pipe when I was six. Its pretty much turned into a game of making up the most ridiculous shit I can think of and trying to convince people its how I got the scar. So far my favorites been that on a school field trip to the zoo I fell into the bear enclosure and had to fight off a grizzly while the zoo keepers got a ladder.

I got a scar on the top of my head that reminds me to check for clearance. A few serve as reminders not to play with knives, and one that reminds me a shovel to the back of the head is nature's way of telling you to slow down...

Honestly, not at all, detest mine and try my best to keep them hidden, been thinking about trying to cover em with a tattoo of some sort

Why hide them, they are part of who you are...and how you got to this point.

The ones from surgeries, motorcycle and dirtbike accidents or fist fights don't bother me.  Sometimes I even like telling the stories, even if they sometimes make me sound like an idiot.  But the scars from when I got hit by a stolen car while crossing the street, well, they really piss me off.

Mostly personal reasons I wouldn't expect many, if anyone in GD to understand.
Better to leave it at that

Do skin grafts count (multiple ones?).

I have a lot of scars...but I remember how I got each and every one of them.  Won't do that shit again.  I just hope I don't get stabbed again.

I'm proud of all but one.  Fortunately that one can only be seen when I decide to get a buzz cut instead of a regular haircut.  If anyone asks about that one I say got in a fight in junior high and a brick was thrown at my head.

My biggest "idiot" scar is from Saudi ~99...I was doing something with a leatherman, and it somehow slipped and embedded itself into the top of my foot.  Only 4 stitches, but it bled like a stuck pig.

I call them 'man tattoos' since there are stories behind them and not something a drunk 18 had inked on to express their 'freedom' of being > 17.

LOL, we're in the same boat:
Scar #1: runs vertically up and down my thumb, to remind me not to try to take a model airplane apart with a knife while I'm pissed off.
Scar #2: runs horizontally along the bridge of my nose, to remind me not to try to break (already broken) glass out of a picture frame while holding it over my head trying to get it to fall into a dumpster while I'm pissed off.

K, gotta bite...how?

Proud?  No, why would I be.
A couple are from biking (one mountain, one road), one is from a tripod joint closing on the skin of my neck, and one is from nearly slicing the tip of my finger off with a pocket knife.
Hardly anything worth bragging about.

Like I said already...maybe proud is not the right word.

I think of them as part of me, and I'm not ashamed of them and don't try to hide them.  They tell the story of my life over the years.
