Coming from WI I obviously have a distorted/biased view on him, but would you support him for PRES?
7/13/2015 1:41:27 PM EDT
[#1]
I think I could, yeah.
7/13/2015 1:41:46 PM EDT
[#2]
sure

[#3]
Definitely.

I like what I've seen so far.

He's been my guy from the beginning.  My dad absolutely HATES him with a white hot burning passion--but can't articulate a single reason why--and as he's infected with the union bug (40 years IBEW) that means Walker is GREAT.

He's in my top tier, but that means absolutely nothing since I live in a post-Super Tuesday state.
7/13/2015 1:47:30 PM EDT
[#9]
I wouldn't be upset at all if he was the nom.

I'd send some greenbacks.

[#10]
Yes. I could.

He's never held a real job (other than governor that I know of)
He's AWOL on illegal aliens
He has no military experience
He's an ambitious politician

+
He's not Ivy League
He's not a lawyer
He's good on guns
He's good on education
He's good on jobs
He's a good promoter of our state
7/13/2015 1:49:01 PM EDT

Yup, If he is on the ballot come primary time, he gets 2 votes from this household!!

I'd add his multiple major victories against the unions and leftists as well as his slow implementation of conservative fiscal policies via the state's budget.

But then, I don't live in WI. What's your take on these?

I do not know much about him but the few things I do know are good.  I don't know enough at this point to say yes or no though.

[#17]
I knew him in college, in some ways I think he is too nice a guy.

Sure I'd vote for him but since Act 10 he has been AWOL in Wisconsin politics.
The legislature has been pushing him.

His wife is weirdly pro-gay marriage.

100%.

Was just waiting for him to announce his candidacy.

He's the only one that I think stands a chance in the national election.  The only thing that I see going strongly against him is that he does not have a degree, and I am curious how that will play out.

No different than what we have now.  Obama never earned one (or he'd show his grades)

To me that's a plus.   Look what the past 20 years of harvard and yale graduates have done to us.

No, that's not at all what I said.   Read again.

He went.   I'm claiming he never actually passed all his classes and legitimately earned the paper.

ETA - ah, 14'er ..

My comment is not a statement on whether or not I think not having a college degree makes him a good or bad candidate (personally I think its a non-issue), but instead on whether or not its a variable that the voting electorate will care about in the aggregate.

Obama has multiple degrees.  Its silly to say otherwise.  Even if he did not, no one but a few people on the internet actually believe he falsified his records, so its a moot point.

[#39]
At the moment he's my 1b to Perry's 1a, but they've switched a few times and I'd be thrilled to cast a vote for either one. Two best Republican candidates since Reagan.

I do think conservatives, especially in states where one candidate has a huge lead in the GOP primary, should consider crossing over and voting for Jim Webb in the Democratic primary. The difference between him and even the second-best Democrat candidate is bigger than that between the best and worst GOP candidates, IMO.
7/13/2015 2:41:14 PM EDT
[#41]
He's my top pick until/unless he does or says something monumentally stupid.

Even then he'll only have to be slightly less stupid than the other GOP contenders to still be 200x as smart as the best Democrat.
7/13/2015 2:42:11 PM EDT

Yes but I am biased too.

He's at the top of my list which was reinforced by this statement:

July 13, 2015  Statement by AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka in response to Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker’s upcoming announcement to run for President of the United States:   "Scott Walker is a national disgrace."

IIRC he was a rhino we supported since there were no republicans on the ballet and we needed his vote in Washington.

I must be confusing him with a different politician - Scott Brown

He and his political team have cracked the code on how to defeat organized labor.

They have sucessfully done it time and time again to the point of demoralizing certain unions such as the teacher's union.
