Hey, I've noticed some pretty interesting screen names and signatures. How about some insight on why you call yourself what you do and/or what your signature means (if it's not obvious). L'man [marines] |

PONY_DRIVER I'm a Mustang nut and it was my first e-mail address way back when. My sig line used to read "Your little car is my crumple zone." after I got into a pissing contest on Michael Moore's website with some phucker who didn't feel safe in his geo metro with my big scary truck on the road. My current sigline is a poke at my account being locked for sparring with a staff member here at ARFCOM. Besides authority needs to eb questioned from time to time. |

Stoney Point? I guess it all stems from a fishing website where I post occasionally, Stoney Point Road was a launching location for many of my ice fishing trips on a local lake. I liked how it sounded much better than the road our cottage was on...that one being Sunset Point road. My sig line? Think about it...it makes too much sense. |

Paul is my first name (duhh), my avitar is a tank blast from my most recent favorite video game (C&C Red Alert) and my signature line is one I've been using for six years between the old AR15 mail list and here. I modified the line last year adding just two words, "under God", after all the crap about the pledge came up. I think we all need to stand back and celebrate our rights. The Second Amendment defines your God given right to self defense and the right to bear arms to do so. This is an American tradition that dates back several hundred years and you need exercise that right as often as possible. Choosing fine firearms only makes sense as life is too short to suffer with poorly built ones. |

I used to play an old Amiga video game called "Fighter Bomber". If you picked "Buckaroo" as your call sign, you would have unlimited weapons for your mission. Buckaroo has been my call sign for practically every thing since. My sig line come from Dana Lyon's hilarious song, "Cows with Guns". Check out www.cowswithguns.com Listen to the song here: http://play.mp3.com/cgi-bin/play/play.cgi/AAIBQkalCQDABG5vcm1QLAAAAFIQnQEAUQEAAABDU3iwPH6T3.egUjIBbLkRNV6pIgo-/Cows_With_Guns.m3u |

Zaphod is a main character in what has to be the most hysterical series of books ever written. It's also short, easy to remember, sounds cool, and can be easily abbreviated as "Z". My signature line speaks for itself... Edited to add: and before you ask, my avatar is Sam Fisher of Splinter Cell fame. |

C4I= Command, Control, Computers, Communication and Intel. Grant= My first name. C4I is the type of work I did in Navy and do now for USAF. The pic is of Naval Security Group Attachment Northwest which was my last command. My sig line is my companies website. To read more about NSGA Northwest and to see some pics of the facility go here: http://cryptome2.org/moyock-eyeball.htm NSGA Northwest was also written about in the book Puzzle Palace, but was never named outright... The name is twofold: 1> I have an ultra-rare preban Colt AR15 SP1 in the collection. It's factory original nickel steel that is a white rifle instead of a "black rifle". (No, it is not a Cavalry Arms color arrangement. It's bone-stock Colt with a certified letter of origin and authenticity from the factory) 2> My Harley Davidson VRSCA "VROD" that is unpainted bare metal anodized aluminum, making it a Pale Pony too. (see avatar) The sig line changes almost weekly with whatever whim struck me as funny at the time. |

From Miriam/Webster online: "One entry found for Fenian. Main Entry: Fe·ni·an Pronunciation: 'fE-nE-&n Function: noun Etymology: Irish féinne, plural of fiann, legendary band of Irish warriors Date: 1816 1 : a member of a legendary band of warriors defending Ireland in the 2d and 3d centuries A.D. 2 : a member of a secret 19th century Irish and Irish-American organization dedicated to the overthrow of British rule in Ireland". I'll add the 3rd: 3 : disparaging term used by British soldiers, the RUC, and Loyalists/Unionists for any Catholic in the six counties with a hint of nationalism...used almost exclusively with the suffix "bastard" hehehe. The phrase is often times uttered immediately prior to some poor fool getting the shite kicked out of him. There are a few here who know exactly what I mean. Obviously, I chose that name due to some fairly strong Irish nationalist sentiment...and also, because not too many people know that the Fenians in the US right after the Civil War invaded Canada hehehe...with the thought of stealing it from the Brits. More than you'll ever want to know about this adventure can be found here: http://www.acsu.buffalo.edu/~dbertuca/g/FenianRaid.html History buffs may actually enjoy this detailed account of what happened. Needless to say, it didnt' work...but ya got to love 'em for trying hehehe. My sig is a line from the speech Patrick Henry Pearse (how could you NOT grow up to be a revolutionary with a name like that!) gave at the funeral of the great Fenian Jeramiah O'Donovan Rossa in Dublin, 1915. This speech lit the fuse for the Easter Rising in 1916. Although the context is Irish, as Americans we can appreciate this sentiment too. The whole speech is here: http://website.lineone.net/~pearsebaby/ROSSA2.htm Oh yeah...14 other people on comcast.net had the same idea, so I'm # 15 [:D] And this history lesson is brought to you free of charge! |

<----------- Dang ol' Boomholzer, man, tell you 'bout my screen-name man. Woowee da name is kinda a phonetic rym’in composition man made up of da Howitzer machinegun man, the character “Boomhauer”; cause he’s a stud with naked chicks I tell ya man, and just “Boom” cause I like to blow things up and shoot stuff with that dang ol' rifles. |

I use Johnphin, because when I was in high school, my youth minister's name was Danphin. He was pretty much the only reason I got on AOL IM, so when I had to pick a name, I picked Johnphin so I wouldn't have to worry about picking a name that someone else had. He picked it because his name was Danny and he liked the Miami Dolphins. My signature line: [:|] Has anyone seen my bullet hose?... [rolleyes] My signature line is a jab at the stupid Violence Policy Center description of "semi-automatic assault weapons" as "bullet hoses." |

Screename = love my kids Sig line = Qoute by Jim Elliot - one of 5 missionaries that where killed by the Auca Indians in Equador in the 50's. his wife eventually was able to make contact with the same tribe and share Christ with them. I could not live up to the qoute but it does serve to remind me daily to try. DD |

My original screen name here, "QKSILVR", is the personalized license plate "number" on my much-loved-but-rarely-driven-these-days silver Miata. My current name & sig-line reflect my favorite comic book character - I have every Nick Fury / S.H.I.E.L.D. comic ever printed (& multiple copies of many), all the way back to the first ones in the '60's when I was a wee lad reading them for the first time. (And yes, the made-for-TV movie starring (Germany's favorite) David Hasselhoff was HORRIBLE!) I chose both of the above names before I had spent much time here (outside of EE) & realized the seriousness, gravity, & quality of SOME of the conversations here. Had I realized that I would be debating politics & religion or offering advice & recommendations on weapons and tactics, i.e. discussions wherein I would want to be taken seriously, I would have chosen differently. When "NickFury"'s 6 months are up, I will choose something more personally descriptive and less frivolous... |

Green Furniture by accident and now because most of my rifles have it. Sig line? Well, I think I'm Jim Jones donchaknow? My sig line elsewhere is "Gage Wrecker and Towing" and I added "We'll bowl you over" as an indicator which nobody has gotten yet. Shame too. I thought you guys watched that thing once upon a time. Guess not. |

My first name is Charlie. About ten years ago, a good buddy of mine at the time was really into porn. I asked him what my porn name would be if I were a "star". After a moment of deep thought, he replied "Chuck Hammer." It stuck as a cheesy nickname. Sig line: The Virginia state flag shows the Roman goddess Virtus, representing the spirit of the Commonwealth, having just slayed a tyrant and standing with her foot on his chest. Across the bottom of the flag are the words "Sic Semper Tyrannis", meaning "Thus Always to Tyrants." |

I've been YB (belli for short 'cause I do have a buddha belli) for so long. I got the name playing a game and it's stuck ever since. There are actually people in real life who only know me as belli. The .sig - It changes from time to time. I read the ninja line on a site yesterday and it stuck. My email .sig has been the same for a long time --> 'No man can wear one face to himself and another to the multitude without finally getting bewildered as to which may be true.' -Hawthorne |

After a moment of deep thought, he replied "Chuck Hammer." It stuck as a cheesy nickname. And all this time, I thought it came from Charles Martel ("The Hammer"), who was the father of Charlemagne. I feel a little cheated that is is a cheesy porn name. [;)] |

I used to collect the old Silver Age comic "The Doom Patrol", I later started using it in online games, discussion forums etc. A friend once said if I ever led a patrol it probably would be doomed so I guess it fits to some degree. My signature is usually something I find funny, current sig's from Die Hard with a Vengeance. |
