| When I read that, I think of the nation of Israel, and all they have endured through the centuries, and how God has watched over them. I read last night of the beginnings of the nation of Israel, through Abraham, in Genesis. God promised to make him a "great nation", and He has certainly kept that promise. |
Yep. We can get encouragement looking at David. This was the David who committed adultery and followed it up with murder. This was the David who was not allowed to build the Temple because he was a man of blood. Yet he was a man after God's own heart. We are fortunate that our Heavenly Father looks beneath the surface to the heart. Yes, there are consequences to the bad decisions we make, but we also have His promise, "I will never leave you nor forsake you." He didn't qualify it with, "...unless you do something dumb." And, BTW, everyday is a great day! It's just that some are greater than others. |
