I've read the seasoning section in FAQ, but I was wondering if anyone knows whether there is any advantage or disadvantage to seasoning with an alcohol instead of water––like a middle of the road scotch or brandy.

Thoughts?

Personally, I wouldn't use alcohol. Wipe down insides with distilled water & don't over saturate. Not sure if there's an advantage of using alcohol as it will dry fast & not absorb into the cedar.
I've seasoned a few humidors with the distilled water & that's the only way I would go.

All I've ever used is distilled water.

Don't season with booze, you want your cigars to taste like cigars not booze.

If you want alcohol flavor/smell in various things just use a mason jar + shot + whatever you want to flavor.
