| Does anyone make Security Shutters? I'm looking for a set of window shutters that are Security rated, basically something strong enough that it can't be broken through, will protect the glass behind it, Pry Proof, and can't be removed from outside. I also need them to look like normal shutters. I've looked at Hurricane Shutters, but I can't seem to find an actual price on them, and few suppliers, most of the links that turn up in a search are garbage, also they don't really look anything at all like normal shutters, and stand out like a sore thumb, additionally the ones I've seen don't look like they were really designed with Security in mind as the entire operating mechanism is mounted on the outside. So where can I get some Security Shutters? |

Pretty much every house in Germany is concrete/brick and equipped with rolladen type shutters on every window. They're awesome for blocking out light if you're a day sleeper and good for protection from the elements and the criminal element. Most are aluminum which works great since they interlock. |

Awesome question - something that would prevent a moletav cocktail - or riot gas canister? That would be nice. |

Quoted: I wish I could find the storm windows that they use on gov't housing. They are heavy steel and the window screens are some kind of heavy gauge steel mesh. If you're talking about base housing in Germany, they called them rolladins (sp). I liked the fact the glass window could open on a side hinge, or bottom hinge. ETA: I see Chairborne beat me to it. |

Bump. I was at Home Depot today, and asked if they had shutters, and they said yes, then directed me to those fake vinyl non closing decorative things |

For the life of me, I can't figure out why they're not very common in FL and the Gulf Coast as they'd be a hell of a lot more practical than OSB. |

Not only are they great for preventing storm damage, but they also add another layer of security when they close up their place at the end of the season. |
