If you want to sell locally, google coin shops near you. Check the reviews and get a few prices, if you have multiple local shops. Depending on qty, it may be worth it to sell to an online gold & silver site. You said rounds but you also said you have no experience, make sure they're rounds and nothing special. You can sell on the EE here, but understand that almost all sales here or ebay are 100% NOT covered by insurance. This means your buyer can say the box was empty, or didn't show up and you have ZERO recourse. UPS/Fedex will not insure silver for individuals, and USPS will not insure them either, UNLESS you choose registered mail and meet ALL the packaging requirements. Every sale I have ever seen in the EE here has ZERO insurance and the seller is 100% responsible for the sale and at risk. When sellers say "you buy the insurance if you want it" you know they are a scammer and either do not know the rules for USPS or do not care. It is the *sellers* responsibility to ensure the buyer receives their purchase, and if the seller optionally offers the buyer to pay for insurance, the seller is a dope. The most common options that make sense are local coin/gold/silver/jewelry dealers, or selling to large online precious metals dealers. My experience with local dealers is they offer far less than you can get online. There are some exceptions, so you have to call around your area. You can just ask "what are you paying for silver eagles" or "rounds" to get an idea of how much they are discounting to ensure a profit. Some I called offered pathetic rates, like 75% of SPOT value. Online, I like JMBullion. https://www.jmbullion.com/my-account/buyback-products/ Reasons: 1. They have always been fairly competitive on price. 2. They will send you the shipping tag and therefore they use their insurance for the package. You just need to drop off at a Fedex owned and staffed facility, and get a dropoff receipt. 3. They typically pay you within 7-10 days depending on how backed up they are. 4. Their website clearly posts the price they are paying, and you can create an account with them and lock it in all online. Or call them and handle it over the phone. No haggling, no bait and switch pricing. If I could find a reasonable local shop in DFW that was competitive with JM's pricing, I'd use them. But after calling over 40 local shops, have not found one yet. |

As someone who has sold to both JMB and SDB, one key difference is that JMB will create a shipping label for you and deduct that cost from your payout. It is very convenient because they use Fedex and they provide their commercial insurance, so it is stress free. The only pain is that you have to drop it off at a Fedex employee staffed facility. I usually just drive to a Ship Center. SDB did not provide labels/insurance, that was on me. The ONLY way an individual can ship bullion/coins of any kind, and expect any insurance at all, is USPS Registered mail. Fedex and UPS do NOT insure any precious metals shipped by individuals. USPS Registered mail has very specific boxing, tape type, and marking requirements. And it is very expensive. And it takes MUCH longer to move through the USPS system. But in the end, the higher price paid by SDB was worth it for the amount I was shipping. I just checked, and now SDB is offering shipping labels. That's changed. It always pays to shop around. |

Depending on where you are I would look at Coinzip and try to find a coin show. You will find dealers who will buy from you. You can also speak to several of them at one location and try to get the best price right then. https://www.coinzip.com/index.php?state=IN If this does not work, I would try local coin shops. Not pawn shops just true mom and pop coin ones. |
