The fall show is typically the largest gun show in the US - 4,200~ tables inside a fully enclosed, climate controlled space. There have also been specific ARFCOM threads on it before; along with ARFCOMmer specific-meet ups related to Wanenmacher's -- the 2022 thread was HERE. Wanenmacher Pro Tips ========================================== [b]MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL[/u] Bring a small notepad + pen; and write down the locations of interesting things as you encounter them. Wanenmacher's location designators are: Upper Level / Lower Level Row 20C [for example]  Example of a Row Designator The show is big enough that you won't be able to find interesting things again later in the day without specifically noting their location. ========================================== Wear comfortable footwear, there's almost 6 miles of tables to look at. It's recommended to get advance tickets to avoid lines and delays getting in; or to arrive as early as possible. At the 2022 Spring show, there was a line out the door to get in by 1 PM. Plan on being at the show from 8AM to near 5PM on Saturday, and 8AM to 3 PM on Sunday if you want to cover it all. That will average just under 14 seconds per table. ====================================== There will be "state fair" type food booths along both sides of the main hall -- but they are not cheap.  Food Booth locations in green ====================================== Bring a backpack or towed cart if you plan on purchasing much. Bring a decent amount of cash. Most of the great deals will be small vendors that only deal in cash and the ATM lines can get long. If you see something that looks like a good deal; BUY IT. As an example, at the 2023 show; I saw a FFL displaying a FN PS90 (the perfect Stargate Cosplay gun) for a pretty decent price; I forget the price but it was high (1.2K to 1.4K) but not ridiculous. I saw it early in the morning zip tied to a wire rack, and when I went past the same vendor a few hours later, the PS90 was gone. The show may be slightly underwhelming; because it's your typical gun show times 25. There will be beef jerky vendors; because even with$200/table costs, there's enough foot traffic to make even beef jerky profitable. So not every table is going to have unicorn guns. Sorry. :-( Prices at the show are going to be fairly high. Why? The price of a table (as of 2022) was $200. Because of this, Wanenmacher's is where people bring their high end stuff to try and move it. So while you're going to see a lot of "standard" gun show stuff like endless rows of AR15s or shotguns, you're also likely to see:  Holland & Holland Royal Rifle (.240 Magnum Flanged) in the original Presentation Case ($44.9K)  Americana -- 5 Full Size Paintings that Winchester produced to advertise their Junior Trap Shooting setup around 1920. $8.5K for all 5 panels Militaria -- at the Fall 2023 show, someone was selling a WWII German SS typewriter; I finally got to see the special keyboard the SS commissioned to type the SS logo for stationery -- I read about this like 25 years ago, but never saw one in person until now.  An original M1780 Austrian Girondi Repeating Air Rifle of the type that Lewis & Clark supposedly carried on their expedition.  A flintlock pistol presented by Governor George Clinton of New York to James Mundy on 3 July 1790. It stayed in the Mundy family until it was presented again in 1917. ($8.5K) (2023 Show) Seven M1895 Lee-Navy Rifles for sale; but the cheapest will be $5K (Twitter User "several years ago"). Colt Revolving Military Pattern Sidehammer Percussion Rifle (.56 caliber) circa 1855, $14.9K, OBO. (Fall 2023 Show) HK SR9 Target Rifle upgraded with MSG90 stock and the PSG1 Trigger Pack, $5,999 (Fall 2023) AK-101 Pattern Izhmash Saiga rifles (Russian Import AKs) in 5.56 ($2.7K) (2023 Show)  Full Size Gatling Gun Reproduction in .45 Long Colt on a Civil War-era type artillery carriage for 16.5K. (2023 show) Tippman Armory 9mm Gatlings ($6.79K) (2023 show)  Sniperscope; this is the scope that goes on the gun, you can see the infrared illuminator that goes above the scope to the right just out of screen  Assembled hardware on a M3 Carbine M3 Carbine Active Infrared Night Vision hardware (aka Sniperscope) from WWII/Korea. (no idea if functional or not) (2023 show)  HK-91 set for $5.5K. This isn't actually a bad deal because you get the case, the gun, two stock patterns, bayonet, scope, scope mount, and documentation all together. (2023 Show) SVT-38s for about $7.5K; the Arfcommer who reported this saw two of them; one was missing the magazine, had mismatched parts and a corroded barrel - the dealer topped it off with "I know what I got!" while the other was in good shape with a scope. | I have been there before and it's overwhelming. I carried a few items in and only sold one for a loss. Prices were crazy then before inflation took off. I would like to go this year before veterans day and get some exercise and see just how high things are. I might take an AR if the witch wins they'll go back up in price. |

the one thing that stood out to me was the shear number of collectable Colt SAA's and old lever guns still available. in some cases consecutive serial numbers. if there is a firearm that is your Holy Grail, chances are that you can either find it there or find an expert in that type or model and they can assist you in finding it. amazing amount of firearms knowledge in 10 acres. |

Updated the OP with photos and item prices from 2023; to better help describe Wanenmacher's. It's a place where you can find the closest you can currently get to a HK PSG-1 from Metal Gear Solid; but it's going to cost you. But at the same time; it's your typical gun show, but scaled up. If you go in expecting every table to be filled with unique and interesting items, you'll be disappointed; as there are beef jerky vendors, as well as people selling endless tables of 9,999 AR15 clone uppers. |
| I'll skip it. I gave up on gun shows over a decade ago. Tired of the war junk peddlers, girl scout cookie/jerkey/popcorn/beenie baby collectors, tables upon tables of shit priced higher than I can get it at Scheels or online, and walking around forced to breath in BO, Ass stench, stale piss, and cig smells on every other lard ass hillbilly. And all on top of having to pay the privilege of getting in and paying for parking. |
