This here's Rubber Duck, and I'm about to put the hammer down! My dad trucked for many years. I halfway planned on taking the business over when I was old enough, but life led me down a different path. I can think of many worse ways to make a living than trucking.
OP, did I buy a gun from you FTF many years ago? (ETA: a folding AK, maybe??) |

Good video of some vintage rigs..funny the singer says in his song that 1million miles was a lot..
It probably was back then..but I recently passed 2million safe miles(they had a party for me).. After the party I handed the owner the keys and told him Goodbye.. Iv Been everywhere..seen everything...Im done He said.."You cant quit".. I said "I just did".. "Well..we need to talk about it"..(following me to my car) I said.."We just did"..(drove off) Do I regret taking a job and even a career in long haul OTR trucking?..No prob not,it was my best opportunity at the time. Do I wish I hadn't given up so much of my own life and even being a part of my friends families lives for so many years and years..Yes. To (the real)drivers still out there doing a tough job everyday..God bless and be safe. The industry has hired and put out on the road some real Aholes with low skills and minimum training to run these rigs now. My advice to non-truckers in 4wheelers out there sharing the roads now with trucks(including me)...Get the heck away from these guys..If you get around a semi now..move far away..Most of these guys have very minimal skills/training and are a danger to you/family.. |

Ive spent a lot of miles/nights listening to most all of what John C. has ever recorded..(believe it or not..many areas of this USA you could nt get a radio signal for years/years out in certain areas of the mtns and deserts and had to listen to 8tracks/cassettes and Cd's over/over/over.. I have been so far North in Minnesota and other states that the only radio was in French language from Canada(no,im not joking) and so far south on the border all iwas getting was Spanish from Mex..trust me you listen to tapes a lot.. |
