I have a Vector that is very nicely made and finished. Unfortunately they are now gone and they were the cheapest price out there and they are already going up in value.

I bought a new Vector RPD. It had serious problems. Long story short: I sent it back to Vector and they sent me a brand new gun. The new gun had serious problems. I sent it back to Vector again, and they sent me a another brand new gun. It had serious problems. I got a refund from Vector. When it was working, it was a very fun gun to shoot. Sadly, the Vector semi-auto conversion design was crap and their quality control was horrible. I will say they had great customer service. They never hesitated to replace the gun or give me a refund.

Well that kills that idea. Maybe a Black Bear 1919 then..

Granted I have only put about 200 rounds down the pipe on mine, but it functioned 100% every time I pulled the trigger. What was the round count on your gun? Serial number range? Mine is number 63.

The first RPD I got was serial number thirty something (33 I think). The replacement guns were in the 200-300 serial range as I recall. The first gun had issues with the striker/firing pin assembly (never worked right -Vector issued a recall on this). I sent it back and Vector said it had too many issues to repair and they'd send another gun. The second gun, the trigger/FCG pins kept working loose (this started around 500 rounds), and the barrel was indexed way off (had to adjust front sight 1/3" off center to get it sighted in). The 3rd gun would not feed a round, ever....not one. It would mis-feed every time.

I own two Black Bear 1919s and have fired about 3000 rounds through each. They function flawlessly and the quality and workmanship is very high. I highly recommend Black Bear. One guy on the 1919a4.com board has over 40,000 rounds of corrosive 8mm through his Black bear with no issues.

i have one.

the early vector guns apparently suffered from sear problems. mine went FA twice. after the second trip the pretty much rebuilt the gun from the ground up and it's be 110% since.

i also have an ORF built 1919. it was utter junk on the build. i pretty much rebuilt the damn thing from scratch. it is also now 100%

between the 2 the rpd gets out much more than the 1919.
