Hey everyone,

I just got a response from a letter I sent to John McCain. I will post it in full below but it contains the following crap "While I am an unwavering supporter of the Second Amendment, please know that I will seriously consider all reasonable public safety legislation that comes before the Senate."

Please join me in writing him again to let him know his half-Dem crap doesn't fly. That turd can't continue to bend over the country so he can play nice with the Democrats. He lost the race for the presidency because conservatives can't support him because of shit like this. He needs to lose his current job too.

"Thank you for contacting my office regarding the tragic shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School, and its impact on federal gun legislation. I appreciate your taking the time to share your views with me.

As you know, on December 14, 2012, a mentally unstable gunman committed a senseless atrocity by murdering twenty students and six staff members at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newton, Connecticut. While many Americans continue to try to rationalize this tragedy it remains clear that the inhumane and depraved actions of this individual gunman appear to be motivated solely by his extremely disturbed mental state.

On January 16, 2013, President Obama and his administration introduced a twenty-three point plan which lays out both executive and legislative proposals that would attempt to prevent future violence. As the details of the President’s proposals become more clear, I look forward to reviewing them, and working with my colleagues to find sensible solutions that respect the Second Amendment but also help us prevent these type of horrific events from ever happening again.

While I am an unwavering supporter of the Second Amendment, please know that I will seriously consider all reasonable public safety legislation that comes before the Senate.
Thank you once again for contacting my office. Please do not hesitate to do so on this or any other issue of concern.

Sincerely,
John McCain
United States Senator"

Fuck McCain. He has been trying to kill the Jones Act for a long time now. I think he should feel he killed enough sailors on the USS Forestall, but I guess he wants to kill more.

I have a problem with that sentence. Is he saying that he has "unwavering" support for the 2nd, but that he will seriously consider any bill, regardless of if it infringes on the 2nd? Typical RINO bullshit if you ask me. Both of my Senators (Alexander and Corker) are basically saying the same thing.

I've lived in AZ since 1972, the last time I voted for the carpet bagger McCain was 1988.   After dumping his sick wife, and then getting caught trying to get Keating off, I said enough.

F**k him

Well, he did not respect the 1st amendment previously.  Why would anyone therefore expect him to respect the 2nd or any other amendment for that matter?

So... tell me how your two Democrat senators are going to get replaced. Cardin & Mikulski, right? Set the example in replacing your two D's, 'mkay? At least we have two R's (even if JohnnyM Does vote D most of the time.) /sigh/

ETA: And JohnnyM is an honest politician. He's been drinking the civilian disarmament KoolAid for as long as I can remember. He is wrong, but at least he's consistently wrong.

That's uncalled for.

We don't have to agree with his politics but he paid a pretty heavy fucking price for all of us to be able to disagree with his political views.

Oddly, I rec'd 4 copies of the same letter in response to letters sent previously (DEC & JAN)...guess no one really reads 'em after all.

Today must have been mass e-mail answer day.

I'm not concerned about McCain, he's good to go (mostly) when it comes to guns.

He opposed the original AW Ban in 1994, he opposed any talk of renewing it, and he's opposed to it now.

Do you remember when the Lawful Commerce Protection bill came up for a vote, back in '04? Our Good Friend in Washington was quoted as saying, "If the NRA is for it, I'm voting against it."

He get's an automatic downcheck on every primary ballot, from me.

The question is not *If* he'll betray his constituants, but *when*.

Eh, like I said, I'm not too concerned.  He's consistently voted against the AW ban, he's come out in public saying Congress shouldn't pass one.  He's been more vocal in his opposition to the AW Ban than most of the other "conservative" senators.  As far as the AW Ban, he's been good so far.
