Howdy all. I made the Sergeants initial list  ; now I have to get past the Orals. Any suggestions for study material would be MUCH appriciated. Thanks guys.

| I just took the Corrections SGT oral boards, alot of employee conflict resolution stuff. Of course I studied all the policy and procedures as did everyone else I talked to. It's something to consider. Study your union contract, P&P, agency manual and of course supervisory duties. I'm with S.O. in the Corrections division. About 12 years since patrol and never took the Sgt's test there, good luck. |

I tried that, got the list today. I went from top five last year and they had plenty of vacancies. A new sheriff later and nobody promoted and the entire process and the $50K they spent making the list tossed out the window!  Now on my latest test, I'm banded in to a tier 2 which basically means get lost loser... PISSED OFF!  Hope none of you guys have to go through this shit, it's pretty damned stressful. Hell if I could leave this job and find something, anything else to pay as much or close.... Well you know.... tired of the crooks and the administration... |
