http://www.cnn.com/2013/05/17/politics/nra-recall-colorado/ If it's something that is in any way pro-gun, then it HAS to be the NRA. This is ridiculous. Yes, they helped with a mailer. They didn't give us cash. They didn't give us $20,000 like Bloomberg gave Morse. They didn't buy us $15,000 in tv ads. If the NRA was behind this there would be a TON more advertising from them. The fact of the matter is we're grassroots and our fund raising has been such. We've done this on a shoestring budget. At the start of this no one thought we had a chance so none of the big groups got on board. For instance RMGO leader Dudley Brown (whom you would think would be on board) has railed us every opportunity he's gotten. As you can see, the NRA sent out some postcards. That's it. They've been very friendly, and wished us luck, but that's where the interaction stops. They refuse to believe that citizens are capable of standing up and saying NO to bad laws and bad legislators. Just amazing. Please comment on that article to set the record straight if you can. |

They say "NRA" as a catch-all for any gun rights movement or group because a lot of people have very negative feelings towards the NRA is and because they want to cast our side as faceless, corporate lobbyists. Admitting that we are really millions of regular people concerned about our rights would make it harder to marginalize and dismiss us. |

...the National Rifle Association is attempting to coordinate the recall of a top state legislator over his role in the passage of new gun restrictions, CNN has learned. This statement is not, according to what you said, inaccurate. I'm not sure exactly what it means. "We are attempting to coordinate..." doesn't sound like something the NRA puts in their press releases. It sounds like something a CNN writer invents when he finds out that NRA sent out a mailer. I think it's a good thing. I hope they played the Darth Vader theme when they ran the story. As a matter of fact, go back and read that story with this playing in the background. This is better than a $1,000,000 donation from CNN to the ILA. Vote for a gun law? The NRA Death Star is coming after you. I love it. |

This is better than a $1,000,000 donation from CNN to the ILA. Vote for a gun law? The NRA Death Star is coming after you. I love it. Indeed. The statement is not inaccurate. In fact, it not only shows the NRA did not launch the recall, but it implies the recall was a grassroots initiative, by groups few readers will have heard of. However, by adding the sinister note about the NRA "attempting to coordinate" they make it suddenly scary, and relevant. You see, CNN, unlike many here in GD, knows what the NRA can do. They know how effective the NRA can be at coordinating such efforts. Funny, though, to see the anti-NRA bile starting to spew from many who ostensibly support the recall effort. They seem determined to spoil it, as their hate for the NRA and desire to foster or maintain divisions among gun owners is greater than their desire to make the recall happen. |

CNN had a bullshit piece about this playing while I was waiting at the airport yesterday (I normally don't watch such crap). They were interviewing Morse, and it sounded like he was taunting his opponents calling them unorganized and saying they failed to collect any significant amount of signatures. I couldn't quite understand all that he was saying since the airport had announcements blaring over the speakers. Hats off to you fellas for your movement! I'm sure Morse was lying during his little rant yesterday. If your efforts have caught his attention, I'm sure you're doing it right!

dont get me wrong, i love the nra. they get shit done. im a current member. my issue is that our organization and push back are grassroots and its the people of colorado doing this, not a national organization. that distinction needs to be made. Even the quotes from the guy being targeted acknowledge the grassroots... roots. |

It was just reported by Jeff Crank on KVOR, that he has seen an email from top Democrats that if Morse is recalled they will ask
for his resignation so as to have the Governor appoint a Democrat in his place. This how a progressive crushes the will of the people. |
| This is the left wing socialists who are trying to create the narrative. Their strategy is to divide and conquer by making it look like only an insignificantly small, but very powerful group is standing in the way of "the people." So, they twist the truth, they exaggerate, and out right lie to swing the low information voter. Get you talking points together, be clear that this is grass roots, preach that it is is grass roots every chance you get to prevent the liberals from controlling the narrative. |

Quoted: Quoted: Communist News Network I don't even bother with them anymore. And there you have it!.....Couldn't have said it any better...... ![]() Them getting busted for faking a satellite feed was worth the price of admission. It's one of the few times I've watched. They have some decent op-ed pieces, but for real news, they somehow fail to deliver the AP wire like ever other news agency on the planet. Most of us voted with the clicker years ago. I don't think there is anything they could do to get me watching again outside firing every single person working there and a total rebranding.

That right there is exactly why the NRA likes to work behind the scenes and through state level organizations. The state level groups are running the show and using local people to do it...the NRA just helps their process. Remember this every time you see an NRA bashing saying "What isn't the NRA doing anything in my state?".

This how a progressive crushes the will of the people. This tactic would not surprise me. Anything to thwart the will of the people and not lose face on the national scene. I hope the Dems get absolutely thumped in the midterms. It would be nice to have a veto-proof super majority to undo the bidding of these progressives. |

I don't see the NRA here in Pueblo. I am sitting at a shopping center right now with a recall petition. This is the people of Pueblo recalling Giron, not the NRA. None of them are NRA members? Or, do you expect some guy in an Eddie Eagle costume to show up and rally the troops? |

Or, do you expect some guy in an Eddie Eagle costume to show up and rally the troops? I am an NRA life member. I fully support the NRA, however this recall has nothing to do with the NRA. They didn't start this, they don't direct this, and they have given us nothing but phone numbers of lawyers to call. There is no money, and no "behind the scenes" help going towards our recall in Pueblo. |
