I'm surprised to hear about the amount of Hydrashocks being issued. I'm glad to hear it because I think they're underrated,... I'm just surprised.
A lot of Chicago LEO's I know swear by them, especially for very heavy Winter clothing...

The PD I work for allows it's officers a choice in what they want to carry.

We just got approved to carry rifles... PD is still trying to figure out what it will be. Spoke with some Command Staff and they said that my rifle will be okay with the current load I keep in it.

M&P in .40

Federal 165 grain.  Forget the exact name.  It's the stuff that has the soft plastic under the tip so it expands like a hydro shock but feeds like ball ammo.  We've dug em outa deer, the stuff actually works.  

G27 as a back up.
