Now that it's Spring in the Pacific Northwest, we're getting close to our allotted 3 weeks of sunshine.  I think it may be time for a new pair of shades and I'm looking for suggestions/rants/raves/etc.

They should be suitable for sailing, fishing, driving and (perhaps) shooting.

M-Frames are good for shooting hugs the face with no room for any brass to get in between.

Oakley Flak Jacket, polarized since you'll be fishing. The hydrophobic lenses are easy to clean.

Oakleys.  If you've got any association with the govt/mil/le, you're able to get them for significant discounts if you dont mind matte black frames.

If you will take care of them, buy Oakleys, if not, but Natives so you can switch out the lenses when they get scratched to shit.

Oakley Monster Dog Polarized w/Deep Blue Lens.

Leaves a large tan line though.

You can switch lenses in many Oakley modesl. $40 for a set of Half Jacket lenses.

I like the Whiskers more and more, but Minutes are my favorite plastic lenses. I've had ten pairs of Oakleys now.

They often have soft frames and glass lenses. No go-especially at their price. Oakley makes very nice wire framed glasses that don't look like they belong on a high schooler.

I rock real Gucci gear sometimes--their ties are great--but their sunglasses aren't all that cool.

Oakley M-Frames.  Good fit.  Won't blow off you face when riding bicycles or motorcycle.
Low distortion in any direction of eye movement.  They fit my face so well they make good safety glasses for flying debris.

Cons:  Don't fold up. Hard to store.  Tend to break if tilted up to the top of MY Head.
Oakley did replace for free.  I had a dealer send them in.

I usually wear prada as my every day go to sunglasses but some grease monkey mechanic stole them out of my vehicle last year so I have to get another pair for this summer. They held up as well as any other pair or sunglasses I've used for everyday stuff.

Yikes, that's quite a size spread. Minutes don't fit on my head, but whiskers are much too wide.

You can change lenses on pretty much every Oakley model if you have a little practice. Guys who buy the sunglasses for RX usually sell their lenses on ebay for cheap. But I haven't figured out the trick to my Mag Switch lenses. There's just no flex in the frame.

You must have the Pro M frame. Since 2001 all Oakley New M frames fold. Beat by Zakk.

Maui Jim's if you want the best sunglasses with the best warranty in the industry.  Lifetime repair or replacement, no questions asked, for the cost of return shipping.

For less money, Oakley are decent as well.

The regular m frames fold, the pro's dont, but stick with the pro's if your using them on a bike with a fullface helmet, my first mframes weren't pro's and putting them on and pulling them off with the lid on wore out the nubs that that held the folding ears on.

Very nice sunglasses.  I'll be getting a pair for myself as soon as it's financially feasible.
