I don't shave normally...

But when I have to...

It's a 3 blade razor with cream (not gel), or an electric with Lectric Shave. I get BAD burn from an electric, also a big help in the field to stay somewhat professional but still be able to wear the kevlar without frustration from the chin-strap.

My wife buys me Crew shaving cream.

It comes in a squeeze tube and it's not cheap.

When I was buying it, I went with the can stuff. If I bought the brush, cup, and all that jazz I'd probably use it a week and then switch back to the can.

Shaving is for womens' legs and bikini-line. men just grow beards....

until their children say "Daddy! shave your beard, it's scratchy when I kiss your cheek!"

My children are the only individuals I will shave for.

None of the above.  I just use Ivory soap and a Fusion razor.  I bought my Fusion ~6 weeks ago and I have yet to change the blade.

I hate shaving. I'm much happier when I don't need to.

That being said, fuck the "art of the shave". Basic can shaving cream and good blades are all one needs...that is of course for guys who don't have their tighty-whities dry cleaned and pressed with heavy starch. Those guys are a lot more comfortable whipping up their special shaving cream and powdering their balls with a fine talc.

Taylor of Old Bond Street shaving cream, badger brush, a fresh Feather blade...

Nice shave, little to no irritation, and hardly ever a nick on my face.

I shave every other day, so it never gets very thick. I just dry shave with cheap disposable razors.

I'm lazy (efficient?) when it comes to this.  That may have something to do with jumping in the shower at 5:15am & leaving the house at 5:30.

In the shower - I lather the face with leftover shampoo from my hair.  It's worked fine for years.

I'll also use water + razor, or even dry shave on rare occasions.

When shaving the whole head, though, I usually use Aveno gel.

FWIW, I've tried many other options - Crabtree, Caswell & Massey, other brands, in both cream & shaving soap/mug form.  Nowadays my nice badger-hair shaving brush is buried somewhere in the back of my bathroom cupboard.

A Gillette Trac-2 run under hot water.  I have a beard, so I just shave my neck and a bit on my cheeks.  Haven't used cream since I discovered water works almost as well and is a lot less messy.
