I discovered it when I was I TX on business. Great stuff. Can't get it where I live, as far as I know. I got me a 6er in manassas, va at Walmart.... Had it last night on draft at the Alamo... musta had me half a pitcher That's the stuff we (Texas) exports. Alamo, too. Started here in Austin. I suppose you went to the one in Winchester. I was up that way visiting a buddy when we rode (motorcycles) out to Winchester... Saw the sign for the franchise. Texas - we export good stuff. You're welcome. |

Good stuff. It is a nice compromise between taste and not being over priced. Maybe in Texas. It is a pretty good beer, but up here it's priced like Guinness Stout. Funny thing, The nose and taste reminded me of the Shlitz(or maybe it was Schmidt) I used to get sips of as a kid. |

Now that I'm in LA, at over $10 per, its appeal has lessened considerably |

Quoted: Quoted: Quoted: It's actually cheaper here than it is in Texas. You folks are overpaying... Its not very expensive here, at all. Ha. Here in my town, it doesn't cost but about a quarter more per six than budweiser... That's about what it's worth. Shiner here in Virginia is about $5.50, I just about fell over when I had to pay $7.20 in some one horse town between Greenville and Sulfur Springs, Tx. |

Its not bad here at all. I don't like the black labels, the 99 was bad. The Ruby Redbird is great though with a steak. |

What's awesome is living about an hour from the brewery and getting to take tours. Sadly, I've been banned from the Spoetzl Brewery tasting room.... It seems that there is a rule against one purchasing sample tokens from other visitors........ They dont like you using your wife's tokens either. The old Lone Star brewery in San Antonio was a great place to drink a beer until its closure |

Currently working through a case of Blasck Forest though ![]() As in Saranac Black Forrest? From the Matt Brewing Company in Utica? If so, sir I envy you. I got a chance to drink some beer from them in Summer of 2004 and fell in love, brought many a beer home with me. Even their soda is fantastic. Some friends and I got to tour the brewery and I fell in love with the beer. But I haven't had a drop in seven years. Quoted:
'll pass. Shiner keeps discontinuing the styles they actually make decently and come out with shit like ruby redbird. Yeah I can't get behind their Ruby Redbird for anything and actually had to discount it to $2 a bottle at my bar just to get it off the shelves. Nor do I like their Christmas beer, the Holiday Cheer, just way too sweet for me. Their Spring Ale wasn't too bad though, but I do miss the days of Winter Stock and Summer Stock. Their anniversary beers are a bit sketchy also, the current 102 is OK for a hot summer day. Shiner Bock, itself, is OK but I've had my fair share of it and no longer find it my favorite, probably not even Top 10. My favorite Texas beer is anything from the Real Ale Brewing Company or Southern Star Brewing Company's Bombshell Blonde. |

They were like 'How did you get so many tokens?' I laughed and said found them in the parking lot. I wasn't driving, so they let me use those as well. |
