I know this has probably been beat to death but how do i ship a lower with just a FCG to an FFL?
Can I use USPS or do i have to use fedex? Thanks in advance |

Any help This is what I found to be simplest. Have the buyer provide you with the number of the FFL. Call the FFL and ask what they prefer. Call the carrier of their choice and ask what you need to do. Another FYI: with UPS you have to take it to a hub, not one of the little franchise shops. |

Non-licensee's cannot ship handguns or concealable firearms by US Mail. Long guns are permitted. Receivers by BATF definition are neither handguns or long guns, hence you having to be 21 to purchase an AR receiver but only 18 to buy a complete AR15 rifle. Therefore since a lower receiver is not by definition a handgun (or a long gun), shipping it to an FFL by US mail is permitted. Anything that doesn't meet the definition of a long gun (16" bbl, 26" min. OAL) could be considered concealable under postal guidelines. |
