i liked it. but towards the end where they have like 500 commandos coming at them and all the explosions got a little too far fetched. but there are lots of scenes i like, with the chase in the Crown Vic, him taking out the guys in the cabin at the end.
whats up with Danny Glover's faggot sounding lisp though ? |

So many gun fails in that movie.. I saw a few flaws and thought it could be better. Overall I think it was okay. I liked the ending when he talks about his rifle at the DOJ. Especially on how he said the rifle was not operable after he left home for the mission. |

Watched it twice .
First when it went to DVD but never paid enough attention to the ending. I watched it again a couple of months ago. Did the Attorney General at the end of the movie give him the nod to take out the Colonel and the Senator? Are to think that the AG would deflect the investigation that was sure to follow after Swagger shot them. |

I mean yeah at the range neither "really" matter. but I have never picked up a weapon, that I own and am familure with left handed.. RIght index finger is always trigger finger, not my left nose picking finger... Not to mention the backwards flag in the scene in the hanger aswell...

Quoted: Quoted: For being an anti gunner marky mark sure does play a lot of shooter roles. is he anti gun, or.... anti allowed to own a gun ? IIRC he got a felony for punching a dude for no reason, blinding the guy in one eye. there have been a couple big assed threads about this in the past he beat a Vietnamese guy and blinded him in one eye apparently it was a state level crime and he was young so it got expunged/overturned or whatever |

Reminds me of this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zNo7yLPHbE0 |

I think Mark Wahlberg is a TERRIBLE actor so I did not enjoy the movie at all. The only good role I can remember him playing was the asshole in The Departed, but I think that is just because that is who he probably is in real life.
On a side note, I thought his brother Donnie did an excellent job in BoB. |

If you like Steven Hunter's books you'll also like Gunnery SGT Jack Coughlin's books as well. |

Was a decent modernization of the book. Brought to light an author many have never heard of, and now enjoy. I thought everyone played their part pretty well. I agree with the second sentence, the first and last, not so much. I now own almost of all of Hunters Bob Lee Swagger and Earl Swagger books. Which, being from Arkansas and the grandson of a post war lawman, I really dig. |

The movie was so far fetched as to be unwatchable. Hunter's books are so full of shit, mistakes, impossibilities as to be unreadable. Mack Bolan series was more realistic than Hunter's books. If you want some realistic adventure stuff, read Vince Flynn or Andy McNabb or Michael Williamson. Any of these three are much more realistic and enjoyable that Hunter. |
| I enjoyed the movie a lot. Much as I don't care for the man in real life, he's a good actor and played the part of reclusive patriot well. I have just started reading Point of Impact. I decided to start at the beginning of the Bob Lee Swagger series after reading and thoroughly enjoying 'I, Sniper', the 6th book in the series. Lots of gun specifics in this book, so it was a fun read. The next book in the series came out not too long ago. |

Sometimes you just gotta turn off your "I'm a badass gun guy" switch for a bit and treat entertainment as just that. Hunter wasn't writing documentaries. |

Quoted: I just can't overlook things like,"He flipped the safety off on his glock" or "After allowing for the coriolis effect, the round impacted dead center". It is extremely off-putting to me. It's just like trying to watch Dukes of Hazzard as a kid and knowing that what you see cars do in the show is impossible.Quoted: The movie was so far fetched as to be unwatchable. Hell, if everyone liked the same stuff, life'd be boring. Opinion was asked and given. If unrealistic things bother you, you shouldn't waste your time on Hunter or his movies. If you're good with it, enjoy. I've enjoyed some unrealistic reading. Ringo's Kildar series was awesome. Some called it trash, though. |

Quit nit-picking. It was a movie. It had guns. It had gratuitous shooting and explosions. A corrupt Senator gets killed at the end. I enjoyed it. ![]() Pretty much this. Books are for getting your head into something. Movies are usually to go "whoa, that was fucking cool" |
