Gun show this weekend, contemplating taking my synthetic-stocked M1A (partially NM) w/ 2 20rnd USGI mags (exactly 100 rounds fired through) to trade for Bushy/ASA/yada yada M4 and some goodies???? Moral Dilemma here, please help... Don Out |

Quoted: if it were up to me, i'd keep the m1a amd get an AR to keep it company. Funds ar non-existant now due to the knee injury (went from combined income of around $70K/yr to wife's $38K, and the bills are relentless) As I will be issued USGI M4, would like to have one that I can check out of the arms room on my own...in case of ammo shortages that have plagued the military from the Klinton era. I like to be just a little more proficient than the 2 times a year qual. |

Quoted: wow, I wish you could wait till October 19th, I wouldn't be ready to buy till then.....do you need the cash right away? yeah, show is this weekend, and if supplies are short, I would like to take care of it ASAP. Will ship out (back to Basic-GRIN) around 01 Nov |

Quoted: how does it shoot with surplus ammo like hirtenburger? I you get good groups with surplus ammo then keep it. M1A is the ultimate battle rifle available to civilians, 7.62mm, 20 round mags, flash hider, accurate, reliable. Don't do it. Good groups, all rounds (100 fired and 300 in mags & boxes) so far have been Hirty. Like I said above, I REALLY want to get the XM25 for a long-range rifle, but won't even have the time to use it until all of my BT and jump refresher stuff is out of the way, at which time I'll have enough banked to buy it. Don't have MOA/ grouping info, but after sight in, put 90 rnds into one of those square plastic cat litter buckets on rapid fire @ roughly 100m |
