That argument is always funny to me. It can go the other way too, ya know. If you use proper shot placement, then caliber is of little importance. If I end up in a gunfight, I want as many bullets as I can get to send toward the bad guys. I love the 1911, but the .45 vs. 9mm argument is just silly. Both have been proven to kill people well. Just shoot what you want to shoot and quit trying to convince everyone that you've got the right one. If you want to have second thoughts about your 1911's mag capacity, watch "The Way Of The Gun".

Lousy shot has nothing to do with it. If you are a great shot, then the debate is mute as a 45 to the temple and a 9mm to the temple have the same net effect. Point is, if you are an excellent shot, a typical 45 can kill 8 people with one magazine while a typical 9mm can kill 15. "can" = has the potential. The whole argument is mute anyway since you should be using the gun to fight your way back to the rifle you should not have dropped in the first place.
