| Anyone have any recomendations on a good single point sling and mount for LEO use. I just got the MagPul Multi Mission sling and it seems my upper body is too big to use it as a two point sling. So in this case I was thinking of returning and just get a single point sling |

The Magpul sling is a single point that you can convert to a two point...
Maybe I am missing something. As far as a mount goes I would put in a vote for a I Kick Hippies Slap plate from AIM Surplus. I like mine much better than the Magpul ASAP. If your going with a QD then the Noveske plate is the best I've used so far. As far as slings I like the Larue padded sling but its a 2 point. |

It's like $20 shipped and is amazing. |
| I used one of these for a year in the desert. I have nothing but good things to say about it. I made my own sling to fit my needs, but I'm sure that their slings work good too. |

Unless you're primarily clearing houses with one, they're damn useless. For short term humping around, sure. Just imagine this scenario. You make entry into a house, order a suspect to the ground and now it's time to cuff him. Whenever you bend down, it's banging against the floor and going everywhere you don't want it to. With a 2 point sling, you don't have those issues as it's tight against your body and pretty secure. Just from experience. I recommend the Vicker's VCAS sling. If you want a single point, I'd be willing to work something out with you as I have a Troy single point collecting dust in my closet. |

Train with the single point before you commit 100% to it. I took my first carbine class with a single point and the instructor said "By the end of class you're going to hate that sling..."
Sure enough, his experience trumped my goofing around in the basement. I re-slung the carbine with a VCAS as soon as I got home. This is not to say that all single points are bad or anything like that. Just know that goofing around on the square range or in your basement doesn't expose a piece of gear's flaws. |
