I got into a firearms chat with one of my patients yesterday. He has a slide-fire stock (and met the owner? of the company at one point). He tried it before he bought one....made the comment to me:
"I've shot full auto before...and the muzzle climbs, but with the slide fire, it doesn't climb". Anyone else notice that? Thanks! AFARR |
| Of course it climbs. However since your are utilizing the weak hand support to enable the slide fire stock to function you have a tendency to concentrate and be more cognitive of the climb and the counteraction of the weak hand. I was a prior 01/03 and have fired many a full auto and I have both slide fires (one for the AK and one for the AR) I fire the AR exclusively in 9mm and rate of fire is high...probably close to 500-600RPM. The AK is .223 and is slower rate. I am better at the AR than the AK as I have more practice with the AR |

I test fired one before I bought it and you learn real quick to control the rise, and (if you have any sense) it's the first thing you point out when you let someone shoot it. I have shot mine on both 5.56 and 9mm ARs and I really like the 9mm, although it sure goes through a 30 round mag fast. |

I just "bought and shot" one yesterday (OGR). I found the muzzle rise to be very controlable. It has a high cyclic rate but a bit of time behind the trigger and I think I'll enjoy it even more than I do now. It's not the most visually appealing but given the fun-factor, I don't care a bit. YMMV but I recommend it.

Mine doesn't rise much.
Probably because the whole upper is moving back and forth instead of just the bolt. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UFrBPRYLuXM |

Why is it so expensive? I'd love to have one but $350 for some molded plastic seems crazy. Yeah they are expensive, just go buy a Registered m-16 lower and get back to me.
I can buy a stripped lower from PSA for $57 shipped on sale. $10,000 for a M-16 lower seems expensive to me for a $57 part. YMMV |
| I have a M16 RR and a slide fire on a SBR. I use the slide fire to fire 5.45 ammo because it needs heavier springs to set off the primer on the russian ammo. I can tell you that aiming on a slide fire is much harder than a RR. The slide fire bounces up and down a lot compared to the real deal. The muzzle climb is about the same. Generally speaking a short barrel 10.5 has a lot more climb than a 20". |

Right after the elections when both parties give a little slack in the leash to all of the three letter agencies. |

It drives me nuts when people claim they are expensive when the other option is far more expensive, and FYI Cpt. Knowitall there are other options in that price range. I guess I should have said $10,000+
