It might be a rat snake.  Definitely not a corn snake.  She looks like she was gravid too.

People, please, please learn to identify snakes before you kill them.  Don't kill the non venomous ones at the very least.  If those are eggs, OP just killed about a dozen snakes, not one.  And those colubrids are very beneficial snakes to have around.  There's vermin out there cheering you for killing that snake.

The more I look at the pics, the more I feel that it might be a king or milk snake.  Not sure though.  I'm not familiar with that particular pattern and color.  The scales appear to be keeled which would indicate a member of the rat family but again, not sure.

LOL, not even. It is a corn snake, which is basically a red rat snake in the Elaphe genus.

OP, your vermin population just went through the roof.

It might be but the banding looks nothing like any of the corn snakes I've seen.  I've seen rat snakes with that kind of banding as well as kings and milk snakes.  You could be correct though in it being a corn snake.   I just don't  see it in the pattern and the OP's pics suck for counting scales on the head.  No offense OP.

And yes, the OP's vermin in his area are celebrating.

You can post pics of corn snakes all you want, it will not make the OP's snake change species.

That pegs it.  Guess it is a water snake.  I thought the banding didn't look right.  Either way, harmless and beneficial.

Yea I think it's a brown water snake. We had a copperhead in the road the other day and this was under the front porch so I kilt it.

Besides the head and pattern, the tail in the OP's first pic is a dead give away that it is a water snake. Corn snakes, or any of the NA rat snakes, don't have a latterally flattened tail like that, or the keeled scales.

It's part of the pussification of men.  When I was young, we used to go down to the creek near our house and play with the snakes we'd find there.  Now days, most kids spend time playing video games instead of playing in the real outdoors.  They've grown up to be a bunch of fucking pussies.  They scream like little girls and put a 5.56mm round into a baby snake in their house instead of just picking it up and taking it outside.

I have to wonder what some of the arfcommers would do if they met a REAL snake.  They'd probably shit their brains out in a blind panic.

Seriously guys, man up.  My 8 year old daughter has more balls than a lot of you guys.
