There seems to be a lot of variation in color of garter snakes, even the ones in my yard can vary considerably. My dog identifies them all as "angry strings" and she just loves them to death, unfortunately. |

| Extremely common here too. The other one I saw while mowing yesterday was obviously a garter. Thought this one was too, but just looked slightly different. Knew he wasn't anything to worry about, but since I see him all the time, I just wanted to know what he really is. |

The colors throw people off but the patterns are similar. I caught one that was almost lime green once. He was a pissy little bastard. |

Garter. I have two common ones. Nasty little shits, I'd rather deal with my retics. They are like house cats. Garter snakes are related to Boomslangs and they goddamn act accordingly. ![]() Yeah, he's not very friendly at all. Kind of bitey, and obviously doesn't realize I could just stomp him into the ground. I run across him every few days. You would think he would want to be a better neighbor. He really is kind of a jerk. |

If that's what it is, it has a shitty disposition. Might be right. Looks like him. I'm sure I can get a better look soon since we run into each other often. |
