We have 18 total.  A few different python species and some kings and corns.  Spiders are awesome and have come down in price alot in the last two or three years.

Spiders have come down so much because the wobbling issues they have are not able to be bred out.  Its a shame too, because you can get some really awesome patterns by breeding in spider.

I've got three, to normal BPs and a yellow pastel BP.  I may wind up selling them, I've had them a little over a year, and have abandoned once grandiose plans to collect and breed several morphs.  They are fun, and very pretty, but since acquiring mammal pets (two cats, ack!), I have decided that I prefer the warmblooders.

used to have a boa. it was killed by a pinky mouse.  i find no use for pets that get killed by their lunch.

Are there any good forums for keeping snakes?  I'm thinking about getting a Ball Python and want to make sure I've got everything I need and I'm doing it right before I actually get a snake.

What can anyone tell me about milksnakes?

depends on what subspecies your meaning, milksnakes range from Canada all the way down through South America.

some only stay two feet long or smaller, others get all the way to 7ft.

They are usually not aggressive, somewhat spastic, but not usually that aggressive.

www.kingsnake.com has all kinds of forums for anything you can think of. It is the best all over reptile site I've found.

I've been into herps since I was in short pants.
Had all kinds of domestic stuff over the years.
Never got into tropical, sub-tropical stuff. Too fussy.

I am only into keeping pine snakes anymore.
Southerns, and blacks.
Maybe some day I'll get a permit and a Indigo. Someday maybe.

We have a young Black Ratsnake we caught in our yard as it very, very, very slowly tried to find warmth on a sudden cold night this past fall.  We adopted it, thinking we would keep it until spring and release him back in the yard.

As it turns out, it is really mellow, seems to enjoy handling, and our kids love it.  We will likely keep it now.  It was the end of September when we found it, and I think it darn neared doubled in size since then, and has a voracious appetite.  I didn't "hibernate" it, which also makes me feel less willing to let it go come spring.

This is a pic of it right after we found it.  I had a 30 gallon tank already set up from previous snakes, so it now resides there.  I will have to get a current pic taken to add later...
