I got 14 inches of 'Global Warming' in Adelanto CA yesterday. I tell you what, shoveling 14 inches of snow off your driveway fucking sucks.

The roads here are just covered in snow and slush that are going to freeze tonight.

Ps. Snow Summit resort and Mountain High got feet of snow
12/18/2008 9:22:34 PM EDT
[#18]
We had rain and 38f. All of our snow is melting.
12/18/2008 9:51:42 PM EDT
[#19]
It's on the way, along with freezing rain.

Personally, I like all of these "freakishly rare" snow storms and falling temperatures.  I like to imagine it being the Big G telling algore to shut up.
12/18/2008 9:57:24 PM EDT
[#20]
Supposedly we are getting snow today in the afternoon. Can't wait.
12/18/2008 10:02:46 PM EDT
[#21]
We are supposed to get up to 13" tonight and tomorrow, then I think we have another storm coming for the weekend.

12/18/2008 10:03:49 PM EDT

Things like this are why they have changed the name of global warming to "climate change", otherwise they wouldn't be able to keep pushing an agenda built on BS.

Yeah it's too funny watching people freak out over a little snow...

Here in PDX news stories on how not to slip when walking on ice, how to put on chains, etc. have been running every night on the news... EVERYWHERE is sold out of chains... There's been like an INCH of snow on the roads in the city if that...

Oh, and pretty much ALL the local schools have been canceled all week.. over conditions that make a typical mountain town winter look like the apocalypse... lol...

Yep, when I was at FT Lewis I remember driving around in a '68 Camaro helping folks in SUVs get unstuck. Going up in PA had some advantages.

LOL, the freeway is gravy even when it is ice, no hills.  I grew up learning how to drive in this garbage over in Spokane.  I am seeing people trying to go down steep hills that are solid ice with no sand.  We lost a few street sign posts around the neighborhood here from it.  It's a riot when they all get out there and drive really slow, the whole time they are tailgating each other.

If one major ice storm were to hit cities like Seattle or Portland (no power for a week or two, truly fucked roads, etc...) I think we might be looking at localized SHTF.

Sad really...

We watched the news tonight, and I couldn't breathe I laughed so hard...What in the sam hell are people doing???

This guy slipped and fell and I spit my Powerade everywhere...I know it is wrong but something about when people fall in the snow is hilarious...

In Philly, this guy was walking down the street in these really nice shoes (in the ice mind you) and he slipped and fell right into a big pile of steaming dog poop..I almost died...

Ok I know that is mean...But all it takes is a tad bit of common sense...Drive slow-leave space between you and everyone else––and stop trying to be a idiot and things work out just fine...I have been driving in snow/ice for a while now...Never been in an accident...I have had to jump out of my car once or twice and tell people behind me, "Uhhhh hello jackass this is snow/ice––get out of my ass"... Seemed to work...

Imagine no power for two weeks in the middle of winter... then again I hope I'm wrong - my granparents in Montreal have put up with several such storms over the years (ice and falling iced over tree limbs downing lines all over like half of Quebec, etc...) and people didn't start trying to kill each other over food and firewood up there AFAIK. Maybe I should have more faith in people...

It's the level of unpreparedness and the lack of a clue what to do around here that gets me - granted get out of the cities away and the stupid seems to subside...

We are supose to get up to 11 inches by the time its all over, added to the two previous storms that dropped 3 and 5 inches.

 I know what you mean.

The problem in my neighborhood is that it is full of steep hills.  You get on one and you'll definitely slide down it when it is ice.  Seattle and King co. are too stupid to buy sanding and plowing trucks, even though it snows EVERY year.  I moved here in 1993, and it has snowed every single year.  Over in Spokane they were always prepared, they'd get out there and plow and lay out the sand.  Most of it is flat and it just wasn't a problem ever, even with 3 feet of snow.  Except if you left your car parked on the street and the plows buried it.  Then it's shoveling time, lol.
